Christmas Gift Dilemma--keep the David Yurman pieces or exchange for tennis bracelet

If I were going to purchase diamonds online - and I have - I prefer to know the Cut as that is the most important factor, so I would go with someplace like whiteflash or maybe bluenile

Agreed about buying online, except that never in a million years would I ever suggest whiteflash to anyone again. Ever. Their workmanship is horrid.

But not knowing the whereabouts or specs of those stones doesn't make it worth my money. Id rather pay more and know what I am getting.

I have a tennis bracelet from Overstock.com, which I love.

BUT

I purchased it when Miadora was liquidating through them and it was part of the Miadora sale. I have no idea what the quality of their regular items is like--is it easy to return it if you don't want it, or do they charge a huge restocking fee?

I know this is late because you needed an answer yesterday, but one major concern for me with this bracelet would be the lack of a safety on it. It should have at least one figure 8 safety catch on it, if not 2, considering the price of the piece. I would be far too paranoid to wear it without them.

An excellent point that I second.

I'm also hesitant to purchase "sight unseen" unless it's w/ someone I trust. Often times things look too good to be true on paper and are a disappointment in reality.

If you haven't already, you should sign up for the overstock.com promotional emails. They often have 10% off any purchase so that could save you alot if you decide to go with them.

Overstock does allow returns, so why not order it and check it out in person before deciding? A safety is a minor thing to add, and if you can get a bigger TW bracelet at a better price AND if the cut and clarity of the diamonds are acceptable after you receive it, it would be a small additional cost to have a jeweler add a safety.

Thanks girls. I just wish I hadn't already told my jeweler to order me one from him. He has a return policy, so it isn't like I can't change my mind. He is really, really nice, too. In fact, I think I will take this one to him to let him check it out. Even he couldn't fault me for spending thousandS, yes, thousandS less if the quality is comparable. (I hope!) (I was only going to go 4.5 carats with him, this one is 7!!)

It is definitely worth the time to see it in person! You can always return to Overstock, so if it isn't what you were expecting you aren't stuck. I hope it is as beautiful IRL as you want it to be!
