BBB gives this place a good rating, too. I still think I am going to have to go with someone I know. They will have to take a couple of links out anyway. It is good to have a real jeweler.

I would definitely go with your brick & mortar jeweler. However, there's no reason why you can't use the info/pricing from the online site as a negotiation tool. I think they would give you at least a % off to match or come close as possible to the online price. Good luck and post pics if possible.

Well the reason why I suggested that is because where I work (a jewelry store) that is done quite often. People typically want the 'experience' of a brick & mortar transaction but appreciate the 'deals' sometimes available on the net......we always try to accomodate our customer's but sometimes it is impossible to match an internet price for various reasons. I do understand your hesitation though - do you have a SA that you work with? I can only say that the store would want your business even if they have to extend you a discount. GOOD LUCK.

the simple fact is that you will get a better price online - i guess because they don't have as much overhead in 'maintaining' a physical store. there a few reputable ones. i personally have bought from and highly recommend b2cjewels.com just because i think their prices are the lowest (they have some tennis bracelets there), but you can also have a look at pricescope.com which will have links to other reputable sellers.

it's completely safe to buy jewelry online these days, i used to be hestitant too, but they are completely legit and if you do your research you will see that you do get the best price there compared to stores.

for a $1,000 less, I would buy online. I would research the store, their guarantees, how long they have been in business, etc., and then buy online. your brick and mortar jeweler could go out of business any second also.

$1,000.00 is a big savings if everything else is the same

My tennis bracelet saga continues. I am still torn. I have a 5 carat tennis bracelet ordered from my local jeweler. I know I pay more at b&m, but I do like to trade with real people.

I saw this today, though. It is bigger, and the same price. Is it a no-brainer--go with the bigger bracelet? Actually, 7 carats is larger than I intended, I'm kind of a low-key jewelry person. But, I'm a sucker for a good "deal."

Help me put this to bed!!!
