But Christie Brinkley believes she wouldn't be able to achieve success if she were to pursue a modelling career in today's 'thinner' industry.

The youthful-looking 61-year-old made the admission on Wednesday during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, where she also briefly discussed her 'fun' new romance with John Mellencamp, 64.

Wendy broached the topic of today's models when she mentioned the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

'What do you think about some of the big models these days, from the Kendall Jenners and the Adriana Limas, what do you notice today that is different from when you...?', the talk show host quizzed.

Christie immediately chimed in: 'There's no doubt these girls are drop dead gorgeous. But this is what our industry considers "sporty, voluptuous" full bodies.

I too, try to stay brief when posting, I guess I was hoping for Wendy to do her thing, which she may only do when the guest is not there…

I like Christie now, she is gorgeous, but I didn’t like her when she was young. And the reason for liking her now and not liking her back were her huge cheeks. When she was younger I thought that she looked not very sculpted in the face, but now these cheeks makes her look younger, so she didn’t need filler, that makes more older women looking strange. Just a face lift was enough for her and she looks natural, because of that. Another reason is that she didn’t touch her lips, the injected lips are first that give away for the fake look.
She has a great smile, and that smile is lifting her face, that is the reason she overdoes it. Great genes and hard work are responsible for her amazing body. Her legs are TDF, but if you don’t have them naturally, no matter how hard you work out - you can’t get them. Lots of older women get fat around the knees and that is a give away for old age.

Both you and Swanky have mentioned her smile. While we all know she is done some very well executed plastic surgery I totally agree her smile actually helps.
I recall being young- like late teens and 20's and noticing that a lot of older women did not smile and had a pinched angry look. I vowed to avoid that- Christie has this nailed- it does help the overall youthful appearance.

And while she's clearly got confidence, Christie Brinkley stopped short of titling her book herself as she explained to Hoda Kotb during a SiriusXM interview on Thursday.

'I did not title the book,' she told the Today Show host as part of the satellite radio provider’s Leading Ladies series.

She looks a lot younger than Patricia Arquette!

She is striking rather than beautiful to me. She does look well for her age but a lot of it is clothing and hairstyle choice. Her tall thin body is definitely a big factor. I would love to see photo shop put her in a short layered do and more matronly clothing and see how she looked then. Her body type and clothing take one's attention away from her face as it ages. She works to maintain and it shows.

I watched Wendy... I'm most impressed/in awe of how Christy has kept her neck and décolletage looking so youthful.
I wear a silicone pad to bed for my décolletage... But her neck skin looks great!!! Wondering....????
She's always had a "full" face. That has served her well.
