Ok, it's been what, just a couple of months??? And here I am again....It looks like I really may need to do an updated family photo.

Let's call this one "Fourth Time's a Charm And The Accidental Grail"

Like some of my favorite scarves, this one did not start as a grail for me. I "liked" it (a lot) and casually hoped to add one to my scarf stash when a chance came up. Scroll back about two years or so to my first attempt on a 90cm scarf, which I hemmed and hawed on (as usual) and lost out on. As I discovered moussies more and read (obsessively) through this thread, I became more excited by it the more I studied it. Fast forward to last year and missing out on a GM moussie of it due to (yet again) my own indecisiveness.

This triggered more intense investigation and I began to "hunt" for it and research it extensively. Success looked SOOOOOOOO close a few weeks ago. I had my phone set to bid for me because I was going to be in dance class when the auction ended. I'm VERY sad to report my phone logged me out in the final minutes and I did not win and somebody got a nice deal.....and my eBay bucks went to something else....

However, this triggered a full on obsession where I stalked the web and the bay, hoping for coupons to use and even enlisted MrBcat's assistance in searching. And as luck would have it, I found what I wanted finally.

I'm pleased to present the end of my quietly obsessive search for Axis Mundi GM in CW 10 (Poudre Irise/Moutarde/Verte) and if you've read or participated in this thread through the years you will find that the general reaction to this particular scarf is an unusual and unconventional beauty. I'd have to agree. If you've read some of the original thoughts on this when it was released in 2012, you'll also know there was a lot of confusion about whether it is a changeant or not since the name Poudre Irise suggests it is. ( Some background discussion if you're interested: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/chiffon-mousseline-scarves.123698/page-179 ) I'm pleased to tell you we can lay that question to rest forever now. It is. I took an extreme close up of the beige and pale peach warp and weft.

Up close of the changeant. Since the changeant threads are in the same color family (warm and pale), it's no surprise it is hard to see. That shift from the pale cream on top of the fold down to glowy peach is what you get.

Yes! I think a couple of the colorways of this were changeants. Is yours the pink one?

It is stunning, and I can really see the changeant in the first photo.

Thank you both so much Cookie and Croisette! The changeant in this is not the electric flash that a lot of the blue/fuchsia ones have, but more of a fascination due to the gentle "glow" it has. It really will blend with a lot of my wardrobe summer or winter (though winter is what I was thinking of for it).

What a great neutral scarf ! Very hard to find.

@bunnycat :congrats: on your latest acquisition! Glad your determination paid off! :yahoo: :wlae:

Thank y'all so much scarf1, chkpfbeliever and weN84! This one really scratched the itch for C. Henry after I sold my Peuple du Vent a couple of years ago. The black and white of that really didn't suit me. This warm neutral is much more my thing in a non bright scarf.

Congratulations! Isn't it funny how some things gravitate towards us. I love the contrast border, somehow the pastel hues are more edgy (no pun intended).

And a very flattering cw on you, particularly lovely with that dark red vest - another dimension.

My second Aux Porte du Palais GM also had me wondering, esp. since it also has other shades of fiery tones in the design, eventually I could see the orange and corral shift in strong sunlight. The pink/blue cw is so much easier to see and magical but these subtle close tones have a beauty all their own.

Thank you papertiger! I bet the orange/coral is beautiful! The black contrat hem really does make this warm neutral of the main scarf a lot edgier. As everyone else has said who has or has had one of this CW there really is nothing else like it in my scarf collection (not that I have tons) but having read this thread multiple times, it really stands apart color wise.

I think this was in the same year they did the Quadrige mousseline stoles, because one of the Quadrige stoles at that time was a peach and pale yellow which seemed to march along in similar tones to this one, and it was also a changeant I believe, but I don't think it had a contrast hem and didn't have the complementing greens to the peach tones that this does.

IMG_0018.JPG Can I share my Serenite here as well - just posted it in the Last H purchase thread, but because moussies are so near and dear to me I hope you'll indulge me :-) New from a very good seller - the green a leap of faith because I've been looking for a long time for a Serenite in any format, due to the orchids, without finding one CW screaming Buy Me. The acidic green is a bit brighter IRL, also pleased with scarf picking up the Argile of the Chaine d 'Anchre bag.
