Oh my gosh, this is absolutely stunning, bcat!! Congrats on a rare find!

It's just beautiful. :girlsigh:

Congrats! Oh oh didn’t realize there were changeant moussies in stole. My first moussies were bought in 2015.
Is the weight or texture different between the changeants and the normal moussies?

Thank you Joannadyne, Cookiefiend and scarf1!

Scarf1- There were definitely some changeant stoles. Mostly 140's though. I have not come across any 90 changeants, and only 1 pocket square changeant so I'm guessing it is more labor intensive to set up and reserved for larger (more expensive) formats. Chiffon is a loose weave with threads that are tightly spun, and there's something about the silk threads in the weave that is different than the regular chiffon, but it is part of the thread itself.

This one is probably a litter lighter weight than the La Rosee in terms of fabric construction. It wrinkles more easily than La Rosee which just slips back to perfect shortly after I wear it. I think lanit said that started happening with the lighter weights several years ago.

So far, and @marietouchet if she sees this might know how to explain, from what I can see the type of chiffon varied from batch to batch. Some were stiffer, some softer. The older ones are definitely thicker. The Cavaliers d'Or I have is VERY hardy. It's like a mousseline tank. Whereas the Millefleurs du Mexique from 2016 (?) is noticeably thinner fabric, but not a fine as changeants.

Just yesterday DH announced my mousselines were his favorites. He would be willing to have me lose all my 90s and just have mousseline!

Woah dude! :coolio:He's a keeper! But maybe you could just sneak a few aside just in case???? You know- super windy days and all that???? A lady needs to be prepared for all circumstances, after all. :p

Hello my fellow moussie lovers!

I'm sidling up to the scarf confessional here again....

Moussies are my favorite format. And of those, I am particularly obsessed with changeants, which seem to be having a bit of an unspoken rest at the moment.
(I mean Jardin Anglais is an awesome scarf already, but can you imagine if some of them had been changeant????) :faint:

Anyway....I had some extra spending money after the holidays (yay- holidays?!? You make me over spend so much!) And despite having got not just one but 2 scarves under the tree and one of those a grail, I knew it had to be a scarf and so I wanted something special, and took my time deciding. Of course, my mind always drifts to changeant chiffon...so it took took weeks of searching but I finally found a new one for my little collection. :yahoo:

I'm so pleased to present Quadrige mousseline stole, in bleu gris/ardoise/mauve
which was colorway 08 from 2013. I gave it it's own little glamor shoot :giggle: to try and show the soft changeant effect of the greyish tone to lavender but this one is a lot more subtle than my La Rosee.

I haven't had a stole moussie before, and so now of course I am head over heels in love with the length, weight and ease of wear.

Thank you textilegirl! Yes! This one is like a foggy morning while La Rosee is the clouds of a sunset thunderstorm. Both moody, but differently so.

I had a severe case of FOMO (fear of missing out!) and as the new moussies are trickling into boutiques. In order to solve that problem, I grabbed a couple of 2017 that were still around from last season which I had pondered (and lusted after from all the gorgeous pictures here) so I wouldn’t find myself paying far more than I should. They have both been expertly modeled here before..nonetheless....here is one last salute to 2017 ....

Etude por un Iris #8 (I tried to track down @ladybagas gorgeous cw but alas...too late:sad: ) and Zebra Pegasus #14.
