Been meaning to add my newest little addition here. Jeux de Paille PM in red. I wanted something "romantic" in mousseline for some time now and have searched high and low for an Amours in a CW that I like, but no luck. Then I stumbled on to this little guy. As with most moussies, it suffers a bit when viewed flat but once it is folded it gets more lively and has really grown on me. I love the cute birds (sorry I barely know a sparrow from a parakeet so I don't know if these are turtle doves or lovebirds...both would seem to fit the theme) and the little hearts in the center, plus the cute bachelor button-like flowers on the edges remind me of my grandma, who always grew bachelor buttons in her garden.

This really ties beautifully and I love it with your star shirt!

At the suggestion of bunnycat, from over in the SOTD thread, here is my 70 cm double mousseline, La Rosee

It's gorgeous!

Is the double side plain? And it is pale or darker than the other? I haven't seen many double moussies and am curious about them. How is the weight of a double compared to regular twill? Do you find it thicker or still thinner because of the mousse?

bunnycat, I won't have time today, but either tomorrow or Tuesday, I will get it out again and take pictures of both sides. I may even weigh it! I will only be able to compare the moussie weight to the 70 cm vintage silk weight, since they are the same size. The other side is not plain. They both have the pattern on.

On a side note, I went looking to find out which knot I used and see that I invented a new one because of my fading memory! I started out to tie a chou chou knot. But instead of a half knot with the two opposite corners, I tried a full knot.....and then pulled the two leftover corners thru the middle and ended with those leftover corners changing places with each other. I don't think this new, mixed up knot, can even be termed a variation on the chou chou!

Interesting bobkat. It Sounds a little like flower knot but on a 70 instead of a 45 maybe. Can't wait to see it flat too!
