Gonna add on my plissed mousse here- La Musique des Spheres...tried to open it up on a chair without tooooo much stretching of the pleats....trying to keep that going for as long as possible.

Are the regular twill plisses as easy to drape and work with as the mousse?

Super casual here...

Wowza! Thank you so much for posting this rare gem. :woohoo::loveeyes:

Ohhhh! I have never seen a plisse mousseline. Lovely bunnycat.

Does anyone know if Hermes will still plisse a flat scarf?
Hi PbP -- In the past year and a half, I've had flat twills plissed by H (sent to Paris and charged well under $100) as well as the offer to repleat a tired one but I don't know if they do mousseline as I've never asked.

Thank you! I am interested in having a 90 cm plissed. Perfect. Thanks for the info!

What else to wear but pink to a ballet performance this afternoon? More photos on SOTD.

omg! Lanit - I love that cw on you. I think I was close to buying it as well but my Le Monde est Vaste is very similar to it so I didn't want to duplicate.

So pretty on you!

Thank so much dear. Funny you should say this, because I thought exactly of the lmeV when I first saw it! It's a cool design though, and I think I recall you did get one with greens or blues?

I have never seen a mousseline plissee bunny! Kudos for your find and a lovely design at that.

Thank you sweets.:hugs:

So true about the older moussies. I miss those - the newest ones wrinkle like crazy too.

Thank you Lanit!

Wow, I am a huge fan of plisses, but I have never seen a mousseline plissé before. Thank you for sharing it with us! I also love the ease of wearing a plissé. This one looks great on you!

Thank you Luvbolide! They don't come up often, but I've wanted to try a plisse and I figured, how could I go wrong with plisse mousse?! :graucho:

Friends, I don't post here much because I only own one moussie, :shame:, but I do have a question:

I keep reading about the "new" moussie fabric vs. the "Old." Does anyone know when the new fabric began? I'm primarily wondering if my beautiful Cheveaux du Karnak is old or new moussie material. Thank you!

A Contre Courant - a vintage mousseline from my dearest silky friend who is recovering from terrible flu. Sending get well wishes asap to her! I am a bit pale today myself, but the silk perks me up and is the perfect weight for the warming trend.

Pirula, I started collecting mousselines in 2007. I bought several on the bay that were a few years old. The bolduc mousse stole and was my first store bought mousse and it was the same weight as the older ones that I had. Around 2013 or 2014, I noticed the moussies getting thinner. The past two years have been noticeable. The recent ones tend to really wrinkle quite easily, and by the end of a warm day they can become limp looking. I am not sure why H decided to go lighter whether it was due to cost or customers who live in warmer climate!

I much prefer my older weight mousselines and the colors and designs seem to render richer on them as well.

I see; thank you Lanit. That makes sense. I think my Karnak may be just before the change perhaps. 2013 but it doesn't wrinkle. With any luck, there'll be more moussies in my future and I'll be able to discern the difference.

Your Courant moussie is divine....so very pretty. :hbeat:

lanit, A Contre Courant is such a graceful design, and beautifully worn! Have you had an opportunity to feel the weight of the current offerings? I'm wondering if they still feel a bit thinner. I often wonder if these sorts of changes are just due to variation in natural materials, or are conscious decisions, but have been hoping they'd return to the previous weight.

Hi dear. Weight is very hard to capture in a photo. My recent moussies include the Quadridge stole, Point d'Orgue, the jardins and the AF rings. The Point d' Orgue is really light and sheer. I am guessing printing of the design might have some effect too. They feel roughly 70-80% lighter or sheerer than the older ones. I doubt H will return to older weights. Perhaps this is due to how much silk it takes to make the mousselines. HTH.

Thanks so much, lanit. I just looked up details of mine, and they are from 2004 - 2011. Similar to what you noted about your older ones, mine do not have a tendency to wrinkle. I was hoping this season's offerings were possibly a bit heavier. Let's hope they don't get even lighter!
