Hello my fellow moussies, I was out of town over the weekend and ended up stuck in the hospital, which is not a fun combo, but it is the best excuse in the world for going to the H boutique and leafing through the mousse selection! This is Festival des Amazones in the fuchsia colorway. I went into the boutique looking for the gorgeous yellow and green one posted upthread, but it wasn't available. Instead I ended up tossing this one on, and it instantly made me glow. I really agonized over whether or not to get it, however, because I don't think the pattern comes out as beautifully in this one as it does in some of the lighter colorways. The Chicago store SAs who helped me were all so nice, putting up with my asking them to hold the shawl for two days, during which time I came back to try it on four times! I finally did decide to get it, but I think after testing it at home with my wardrobe, I'm still just not in love with the pattern, so it's not a keeper for me. But I'm posting these very quick shots for reference, since the colors really are lovely: fuchsia, rouge, dark green, and blurple. The store manager thought it was a changeant, and although it's not one of the more obvious ones, I think she's right; I can see the depth of color and sheen in this piece that tend to characterize changeants.

While I was dithering over this one, I also tried on one of the most beautiful and unusual mousselines I've ever encountered. It makes me so sad that it doesn't look great on me-- if it did, I'd probably still be running down the street waving it over my head and whooping for joy instead of posting here on TPF. This special mousse was a Casaques in shades of hot pink, rose, and Hermes orange with a brown border. But what made it really mesmerizing was a changeant effect that made it look like gold waves were dancing across the surface of the silk. I mean, it was GORGEOUS. If you see it in a drawer, play with it! Even if it doesn't work on you, it's really something to get to see. And if anyone does get this one, please share pics!
Aren't the Chicago SAs wonderful ?
Wish I'd been there to see you dither --
Thank you for the lovely pictures
I'm not sure I've ever met a mousseline I didn't love
But understand - if you are unsure it's probably not right
Sigh..
But still delicious ...

Thank you for sharing these beauties, arabesques. The Carre Kantha is so lovely. I never thought I would like moussies as I've always gravitated to CSGMs but the day my SA pulled out a changeant L'Arbre de la Vie, I was in love with this ethereal silks. So sad there are no moussies for Fall 2014.

Thank you, Sickgrl.

A changeant L'Arbe! I would be thrilled to find such a piece. That's one of the most exquisite designs, and in the lightness of chiffon it would be a masterpiece.

arabesques, I love all your moussies, but the black Danse .... to die for!!!

Thank you, Croisette. The black La Danse is one of my most used scarves. Not only is it black (so perfect for New York), it also adds vivid brightness in just the right amount. Plus, who doesn't love fun colored tutus? :p

Dear arabesques! What an amazing collection of moussies!!! Wow!!! Not wearing black myself I still fell in love with your black La Danse! :hbeat: Absolutely stunning!!! - I somehow missed the Jamdani you posted earlier and went all the way back to see it. It is simply TDF!!! Can't wait to see what you still have to share...

Thank you, Sammy Royal. The Jamdani, the black La Danse . . . I'm something of a slow scarf collector, which is helped when treasures like these find their way into my hands. I hope to have pictures of the last pieces this coming week . . .

Oh my, arabesques, you have the best mousseline collection ever! All these beautiful colors. The mousse from recent years are all blended in. Hard to find crispy ones now.

Thank you, mimi. Given your own beautiful H collection, I appreciate deeply your compliment. :) Mousselines are all about the color for me, from the most delicate to the most vibrant. I know what you mean about the recent offerings, as it's the reason I've been compelled to seek out older issues. I want to scoop them all up!

:hugs: Traveling AND the hospital? I have my fingers crossed they figure out what this is . . .

This Amazone is very beautiful, although I see what you mean. The yellow/green played with the design perfectly; here, the purple feels heavy. But that red/pink! It's simply gorgeous—and against your skin and lips, it would be divine.

The sound of this Casaques, however . . . I want to see! I want to play! Ripples of golden waves sounds heavenly to me. Maybe on Monday it will appear—a reason to hit Wall Street as well, no? :p

How pretty Calexandre! It's a shame when something we see doesn't quite work out, but that just means there's more room for another beauty to take it's place. The Casques you describe sounds like the one I bought awhile back, but I can't recall the brown border..this is probably a sign that I own too many silks.

On a side note, I do hope you are okay and recovering quickly.

Nico_79, thanks for the well-wishes! I'm so happy you own that magic mousse I saw. (I might be misremembering the border color.) I know what you mean about having too many silks! I've finally admitted to myself that I'm a *collector*, and if there are some scarves in my drawer that only get pulled out once a year, well....

TankerToad I really appreciate those Chicago SAs now that I'm no longer living in the area. The contrast with Madison is stark; there the SAs are a study in contrasts, either delightfully warm or cold as ice. Every single SA in the Chicago boutique was lovely!
I wish you had been there too. I'd have done less dithering and no doubt much more buying with a discerning TPF friend.

Arabesques, you capture my dilemma exactly with your description of the heaviness vs. the loveliness of the fuschia and rouge with the pink and red lipsticks I favor!

And we are on exactly the same page about Wall Street. I, too, have been regretting not having made the trip down to that lovely sunny boutique in some time. I do hope the Casaques appears-- both because I want to admire it again and because I did wonder how it would look on you when I saw it.

Dear Calexandre,

I thought that mousseline looked familiar - I picked up the blue colourway this week.
If you are unsure about the fushia, perhaps you might like the blue?
I hope you are feeling better.

Hat Trick, of the ones I've seen in person, this is my favorite colorway in this pattern! The blue is an especially flattering shade, and I love the way the black-and-white checkerboard pattern on the ropes comes out, and the green contrast hem is to die for. If I weren't making a concerted effort to diversify my color selection in the mousses, I'd have grabbed this myself. Who knows-- I might still-- I have a track record of failure to resist blues.

Congrats on picking this one up-- it's truly lovely! :smile1:

Oh my goodness, you were correct Calexandre! It does have a brown border! My memory is really the worst. Is this the one you saw? I had such a horrible time trying to capture the beauty of a changeant.

Melora, this is for you dear! Please forgive my shabby top, just came in from the garden. Picture was taken in daylight so you can get a better idea of the colour. Hope it helps in your decision! :smile1:

Calexandre, do they not have this available near you? If you love it, definitely get it! I stumbled upon mine as well, totally forget it was to be released on lo and behold it is on display during a tpf meet up! Grabbed it quickly and have never seen it again at the store.

Runandstretch, you're welcome! I hope you can find this one, it is so easy to wear. I wish H would issue more mousses.

I have the same challenge when it comes to photographing changeants, Nico, they are such shy creatures on camera! This cw beautiful, I love it, I'm sure in person it's even more stunning.

I'm loving Beverly Hills in all the cws so far, this is no exception, it's a beauty.
