Dearest D_Lee,
I am 'new' to this thread...well, actually, I'm a oldie from past years, now finally able to indulge in one of my fav hobbies again.
Have read through this entire delicious thread w/ all the i-candy and comments.
It's great fun to see your posts, esp. pix of your latest beloved moussies, so, keep it up...but, remember, as your collection develops, it's *quality* (not quantity) that counts. What I mean by quality, is the color/pattern/fabrication + how it complements YOU, and only you.
Some pieces are truly breathtaking (viz., Hopiko's and Monceau's Geupards GM moussie in gris/chartreuse/gris or navy), and combined w/ the right complexion and hair color, are dynamite...as in, 1 + 1 = 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.
IMO, that's your goal in selecting a mousseline. Ask yourself, "does it complement my complexion? does it ADD something special to my appearance/feeling?" If the answer is negative w/ either of these 2, regardless of how beautiful the piece is, don't bite!
And, just chiming in w/ the red vs fuschia dilemma...
The red PdV is perfect as done--subtle accents, subtle quiet pattern accents. Too much contrast would scream 'busy' and well, I think would cheapen the entire motif/fabrication.
The fuschia PdV has that lovely orchid-purple undertone that is just so pretty. Period. This CW can 'handle' a little more contrasting detail than the primary red.
So, IMO, they are 2 very different animals.
as for which is suited for you? Well, you seemed unsure of the red, from the beginning. That means something. Trust that, and you'll always chose wisely.
Enjoy your amazing moussie collection, and thanks again for sharing.
