Chevre (goatskin) vs Agneau (lambskin)

The big fat Neimans book I got yesterday with all the anniversary items in it shows the Balenciaga bag as lambskin.

It doesnt look or feel like lamb at all and to me its goat.

I cant imagine NM making a huge mistake like that! Anyone know for sure?

I'm quite sure every bag in the motorcycle line is goatskin. Goat and lamb are easy to mix up.

I just called NM and they insist its lamb for the anniversary bag, I think they are really wrong.

Yeah, I saw that in the book too. I figured it was the usual the-retailer-doesn't-really-know-what-they're-talking-about-when-it-comes-to-Balenciaga issue.

It should say on the tag. "chevre" is goat and "agneau" is lamb.

I just checked the one listed on ebay right now and the tag says chevre. It's goat.

I'm so confused! Odd just pointed out that my Violet First (:shame: JUST got her a few hours ago) is made of Agneau and my GSH City in Violet is made of Chevre.... somebody care to chime in as to why this is so?

This would explain why my City has no real red undertones (at least in my mind)...

There is another thread that discusses the news that some 07 bags are now being made with lamb and some with goatskin. I have a violet city in the traditional goat but my little coin purse is lamb. I am curious how many others have lambskin bags.

Woah! NW how do they feel in comparison? I thought lambskin was much thicker than goat?
