Wow, I had know Ideal their was a difference in price. I will be looking on website for prices from now on thank you. That's a good idea. I had heard France had the best prices, but it would be interesting to actually do a comparison.
The mono canvas speedy 30 is $620 here in U.S.
LV France website lists the same bag at 415 Euros, which translates to $537.31 at today's rates.
LV UK has the mono canvas speedy 30 for 310 Pounds, which is roughly $612.57
I don't know how to find the prices in other countries...
Im going to go on xe.com and do the comparison.I have noticed that prices in Canada tend to be fabourable. Though im always up for a trip to paris where the prices are WAY more fabourable![]()
Value added tax, it's just a sales tax on goods. I think it's 19.6% in France and is already included in the price.
You'll be able to claim the VAT back so bring your passport and ask the SA for the forms.
It may be cheaper to pay in Euros as the conversation rates on charge cards tend to be lower.
untill recently there was a loop at israel
you could get something like a speedy in 780$ insted of 850$
and get a 18% tax return which would end you at 640$
Thanks !!!!![]()
They will ask you what currency you want ,I always get euros.the only time I got dollars was when I asked them to put the money on my credit card, the charged a commission and the conversion wasn't the best but still ok,I had no choice I left the EU by ship and they didn't have any refund points at the pier!If you pay in Euros then, you can still get the VAT back? Will they give it to you in Euros though? I assume there is an exchange at the airport, but their rates might not be that great either.. Anyone paid in Euros?
The best is use a no foreign transaction credit card to buy in France. So, mainly the basic exchange rate from Euros to USD, and you could get about 12% of the listed price as VAT return. And you could benefit more when the euros <-> USD exchange rate is low. I got my speedy 30 from France in late 2012, and I believe it is like USD$600 after the VAT refund, it is USD$910 now and may go up more after March!!They will ask you what currency you want ,I always get euros.the only time I got dollars was when I asked them to put the money on my credit card, the charged a commission and the conversion wasn't the best but still ok,I had no choice I left the EU by ship and they didn't have any refund points at the pier!
yeah , i didnt mind getting Euros because i know i Will need them anyway as I go to Europe quite often due to the job...I'm not sure about the credit card you mentioned ,I only have one and it's actually a debit card, which is the one I used that time....the savings are amazing I know! as I said in another post I saved more than $800 when I got the Brea in Poland last yearThe best is use a no foreign transaction credit card to buy in France.
