I have to confess that I like the thrill of the auction so would never use e-snipe. If I really really want a bag I'll even get up in the middle of the night to bid and leave it to the last few seconds to put in my max bid.
I'm the same. I've set my alarm for 4 am to catch the end of an auction. I check the current-at-the-time bid and if it's still in my range, I wait for the last 10 seconds to bid. If it has gone beyond my price, I just go back to bed.

It's pretty sad that I consider that "fun," huh?

I don't even have to set my alarm - that would disturb DH - I just set my 'internal' alarm clock and wake up . Yeah, I need to get a life too!

At my age, the "thrill" is actually being able to sleep the entire night through WITHOUT waking up at 3 or 4AM and checking the forums because I can't sleep! :sleepy:

Diff'rent strokes... ! :giggles:

Seller says, " I WENT BACK TO LATE 80'S AND COULN'T FIND ANY THING LIKE IT." Should someone tell her it was made in 2004?
I did and she was interested to know how I knew so I told her and referred her to the guides and other listings of the same bag and to tPF of course. She can't change the listing because it has bids. Hopefully there's another educated seller out there now!

She wasn't able to revise the description but she did add a comment:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]On Feb-21-14 at 15:52:59 PST, seller added the following information:I have been corrected by another eBay user and was told that this bag is not that old, more like 2004. So ... I cannot verify age.

That burgundy soft satchel is in horrific shape. I would avoid that bag like the plague. I am guessing it is seriously stained and dyed. I am not sure I would even consider it for rehab. JMHO as someone who has sold a lot of them in the past.

noshoepolish...I rehabbed a burgundy soft satchel that looked a bit rougher than the one in this link. I'll try to find the listing. Unfortunately, I didn't take "before" pics but here's just a couple of it afterwards.

I know you've been at this much longer than me...I mean no disrespect. It's just a beautiful bag to bring back to life. Mine was flatter than a pancake. LOL

Here's the listing

I remember this one and have been coveting one ever since. Nearly bought a black one earlier this week but refrained because I really want one like this!

No dye...just a good soapy bath with all the info I've learned from YOU and all the other talented rehabbers right here on tpf...it was your post on the steals, deals thread about this bag that grabbed my attention and I won the auction. LOL

Two.time.bags - I think the one you linked is worth it. :)

Thanks ZSP. The seller doesn't realise she's registered with the GSP and states no international bids so I'll have to try to convince her to ship it to me outside of the GSP otherwise I'll be paying $50 instead of $25. Fingers crossed!

I was seeing caked on crud over dark ink or similar stains on the listing that was posted.
