Photos are a lot better (or worse? lol) on the Poshmark listing...
In my defense, I sent the close up pic of the damage and it wasn’t included in the listing… I added it

You know what I just realized after reading all y’all coming for my listing (I knew it was going to happen w/the price &. The damage 😅) … when I make a bad purchase and it’s my fault, I’m annoyed but I get over it.

Making a purchase that is a result of someone not disclosing damage - it’s a lot worse.

🤔 Maybe this *is* a good topic for its own thread.

Honest question. If you're aware of all that is not right with the bag, why sell it for so much more than it's worth? The corner isn't an easy fix at all I'd say, the handles need work too and you won't even include the strap?
You overpaid and got screwed over, okay, I get that. That TRR won't make it right is no surprise, tbh. But why make a potential buyer pay for your "mistake"? Just my very humble opinion. I don't mean to cause any trouble. But you put yourself out there. 😬

Part of me is waiting to see how I can handle the Work size (otw from another TPF member via eBay) to see if I can handle it as an often-carry.
- If I can’t, I’ll add the strap back into the city listing.
- If I can, then I’ll drop the price on PM and M*rkari.

Mods @Addy @Vlad LMK if you want me to make this a different thread. I know it’s started to morph into a whole other convo.
The strap that comes with the City is too short to use with a Work
You would have to purchase a new/longer strap
I recently purchased straps to use with a Work and shared info about it in the Restoration thread if you wanted to take a look

Thanks! I’ll add strap.

I’d looked at someone else’s post and for some reason it didn’t even occur to me that the strap wouldn’t work.
Thanks for pointing that out! It’s so obvious now that you mentioned it lol! I would have felt like a jackass if I sold the city without it & couldn’t use it on the work

I don’t support reselling a bag to recoup what you paid. Its actually one of my biggest pet peeves
You buy a bag to use and love. You don’t buy a bag intending to sell and/or profit from it (sure, some people do)
Its like a car — once you drive it off the lot, it loses value
Right now, Bbags are seriously over priced (IMO), so you do have a little bit of wiggle room, but when it comes to well worn bags, buyers set the market. You can only resell it for what they’re willing to pay. Turn it around — if you really wanted this bag and knew the damage up front, whats the most you would have paid for it? THAT should be your starting point

I’m sure it’ll sell. You just need to be more flexible
Good Luck! :flowers:

lol yah I did (put myself out there) But I have no hard feelings.

As far as selling bags for more than what it’s worth, I look at it as the buyers determine what it worth. I’m just going to sell it for what someone will buy it for (while still being transparent about the condition of the bag). The market determines its worth, right? Like TRR doubling prices & people still buying them.

I’ve been wishing this is a case of “one man’s ‘trash’ is another man’s treasure.” But, I look at it as - if someone really really wants to sell a bag and the market is not biting, they have to lower the price. Me included.

Wors-ter 😆
Sorry, DJ Mommy Mom, ahhh!

I'm still waiting on a bag from the repair shop - all the corners are like yours and the handles are flopping flops, lol.

Mine has been there for just over 5 months now, so I totally get the idea of not wanting to deal with the cost OR time involved with having a bag repaired...

What advice do you all have for getting over the gut-punch of concealed damages (without the option of return/appropriate compensation)? It’s not like it’s $20…it’s a hard pill to swallow, but the first time it’s happened to me (I guess I’m lucky).

Unfortunately, my only advice is to chalk it up to an expensive lesson!

In TRR's case in particular, the lesson would be to build your strength in analyzing their photos and be super realistic about what you see - take off any rose-tinted glasses, but if you need them, put on your actual glasses, LOL.

Zoom in as much as you can, save the photos to adjust shadows, actually read the description (I always forget to do this one, haha), etc.

Admittedly, I have so many dodgy bags in my closet, but if you're impatient like I am ( 🫠 ), it's all part of the process - at least that's what I tell myself, ahahaha...

You live and you learn! :flowers:

@DJ Mommy Mom — the seller who I bought my straps from actually has a color swatch that looks a lot like Apple Green

I think one of the main issues is you’ve got it listed for significantly more than what you paid. It seems disingenuous to say you’re trying to recoup what you paid when in reality it seems like you’re trying to profit on it.

After platform selling fees - The price it’s listed for results in me making up to $10, or taking up to a $40 or so loss (depending on if you include TRR’s $50 site credit) from what I paid (w/shipping and taxes).

Sadly, it's fake.

This is a bad fake
There is no C tag lilac
Darn it! I looked at C tags in our reference library and there is one, I thought, but must have misread it. I’ve just deleted so no one gets duped. Jeepers, I’m terrible at seeing fakes, I’ll leave the finds to you all eagle eyed people. Thanks both for your rapid response, able to delete, thanks to you. Happy Sunday

EDIT: looked again and it’s a B tag that’s lilac, need more coffee or something…
