Bagsnshoo, from your experience, do you think he is still using? What explains his behavior?

I'm not an expert but purely based on experience with people who suffer from this I would say its a safe bet that he is still using. But as I said before, after doing so many drugs, they can affect your brain for a long long time if not forever even after you stop using. Familiar with the term "acid casualties"? it refers to people who have fried their brains from dropping too much acid. it affects them for the rest of their life. Charlie seems manic to me. Like a speed freak. So whether or not he is still using, I believe he is still showing the affects of the drugs he was taking no matter what.
thats my take on it anyways. I know there are others in here who share my experiences either first hand or with loved ones. I hope they chime in too.

^thanks. You have given me some good google searching to do...I never heard that term (acid casualties). I did wonder if a brain could suffer damage and get permanently messed up. Sorry if I seem so ignorant.

you are not ignorant. you are blessed with never having to deal with it! :D its astounding what the human body can take and what people can live through. its incredibly sad though how messed up some people become when it was completely avoidable.

Oh charlie, its lonely at the top.

I love those little trolls!! When DD was little I gave her a whole heap of them I got at garage sales and swap meets, some new ones too. they all had little combs, clothes, etc....I washed and disinfected them all....she loved them. Then, one day, she was being really quiet in her room. I checked on her... She had cut off all their hair.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I had one when I was really little, two or so. My mom had taken a rare trip out and left me with my dad. Apparently I couldn't find my "troll" but my dad couldn't understand what I was saying..."I wan mah twoll, I wan mah twoll!!!"
I was hysterical by the time my mom got home. Sounds funny now, but man, my dad has never forgotten that! :lolots:

And to bring it back on topic...they are indeed so cute, what did they ever do to Charlie? :p

Charlie wasn't but Mike Starr (bassist for Alice in Chains) was. Mike was found dead yesterday.

Wake-up call for Charlie? I'd love to think so but doubt it.

Woah! This is the first I heard of this.

Alice in Chains weren't really my sort of band, although I listened to them for while. Very sad to hear about. The lead singer died in his 30s from herion, didn't he?

^^^^^^ Layne Staley died from a speedball in the early 2000's. Mike Starr was the last person to see him alive and the guilt ate him up thinking he should have been able to prevent it. The accounts of the last several years of Staley's life are incredibly sad. He was dead for two weeks before his body was found surrounded by drugs. He was 6 foot 1 and weighed 83 pounds. Sad sad sad. Drugs are the evil and addiction the devil.

I agree w/ bags, suicide doesn't necessarily mean INTENTION killing of one self - killing yourself is suicide, not matter if it was intentional or not.
And we're all watching Charlie slowly kill himself as we've watched others do time and time again.
He's manic. . . this is really sad to watch.

Charlie Sheen to Launch a Cooking Show on Funny or Die

Thursday, March 10, 2011, by Paula Forbes

In what will either be a hilarious self-aware spoof or simply a painful rehash of his catchphrases, actor Charlie Sheen has filmed a cooking show sketch for Funny or Die. (The video is not online yet.)

"Charlie Sheen's Winning Recipes" was filmed in Sheen's home, and he was "very professional" during the shoot. Will it be as intolerable as his livestream? Hopefully not! Apparently the sweet tiger-striped chef's hat was Sheen's idea. Maybe he'll make Charlie Dogs and share the recipe?

Porn Company Making Charlie Sheen an Offer Today

By GossipGirl. Published on 03/09/2011 - 2:18pm

Everyone knows that actor Charlie Sheen loves porn stars and watching porns, but would he like to star in a porn flick himself? The answer to that will likely soon be known as a major offer from one of the largest adult production companies in North American will be coming his way today.

According to sources with inside knowledge, reps from Brazzers will be making a visit to see Sheen at his Mulholland Estate home on Wednesday with an offer involving reality TV. The source added:

“Brazzers is really interested in partnering with Charlie and will be delivering their offer today. It’s an offer Charlie obviously wants to hear because the company is already OK’d to get into his gated community and will have direct access to him.”

Accidental drug overdose is definitely not suicide. My brother died at 23 from an accidental overdose and I can assure you he didn't want to die at 23 years old. There's a good reason it's called "accidental" overdose. There's no way my brother intentionally killed himself. Although if he could have seen the way his poor 4yo daughter was wailing next to his coffin, wondering why daddy was so cold, and pulling on his hand screaming at him to wake up, he might have reconsidered.

I'm incredibly sorry to hear about your brother, lisarx8.

Kelly Preston: Deep Down, Charlie Sheen Is a Good Person

Twenty years ago, Kelly Preston almost became Mrs. Charlie Sheen. And while their engagement ended with a bizarre, still mysterious incident in which Sheen accidentally shot her in the arm, Preston still has a place in her heart for the man she almost called her husband.

"My heart just goes out to him, and all of his family," the actress, 48, tells PEOPLE. "He's such a good person underneath all of it, he really is."

While most of the world awaits the latest Sheen tweet, rambling interview or Tiger Blood cocktail recipe, Preston recalls the days long before the troubled actor became a punch line.

"We were together for a year, and he wasn't drinking, and he wasn't doing drugs," Preston said at Wednesday's opening of friend Kirstie Alley's Organic Liaison store in Los Angeles. "And there's a beautiful person in there. He really is a great man."

Preston went on to marry and raise a family with John Travolta – they just welcomed a new baby boy in November. But she still holds out hope that Sheen can find that same happiness, and return from the precipice of self-destruction.

"I think there's a way back for anyone," she says of the man she once loved. "I always have hope, and my prayers are with him."
