I would have to agree with you 100%, when the news that Cbrown beat the crap out of rhianna, it was EVERYWHERE. Charlie Sheen puts a knife to his mother of his childrens throat and it is NOT on every news channel, blogs or front page of yahoo, msn, etc.
Shows how our news is being fed to us. The big black guy (CB) beats ups his girlfriend whereas the innocent white guy puts a knife to his wife's thoat. Which one gets the most press? of course the bad bad black guy. But poor innocent white guy will not get the backlash CB got (which he deserves).
There is no difference between the 2 incidents- but the black guys crime gets the most media attention because, duh, he is black and black people are baaaaad (that is what the media wants u to believe)
Disgusting that this is the way it is, has been and will always be. But sure, we will lie to ourselves and say racism does not exist anymore......................

I don't follow his business and didn't even know he got married and had more kids. Who is his wife? Is she a well known celebrity like Rhianna is? I think the story's not as big since it's happened over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over with him....it's sick, but it's not *real* breaking news or shocking of his character as it has been with other unexpected spousal abusers or cheaters. He's been a nasty human being for a couple of decades now. They even created his character on Two and a Half Men after the real him, the infamous loser.

I've often thought that the reason why Sheen's character "Charlie" on Two and Half Men is so conving is because there isn't much *acting* involved.

If I see proof - like I could see all over Rihanna's face - then of course I would say it's as bad! LOL!
This isn't about a white guy, or a black guy to me.

I don't disagree, but another factor to consider is that the chris brown and rihanna incident happened between two major celebrities. and the victim was the more important celebrity. that made it infinitely more gossip-worthy than the charlie sheen incident. people can feel bad for his wife and all, but people barely know who she is.

not to mention the witnesses and photos.
It's Christmas so I haven't been following this story closely - would rather hang w/ my family. Are there as many shocking allegations to this as CB's?
I agree also about CB's issue being against another celeb, especially one of the most popular ones of the year. Not to mention they're so much younger than Charlie so they're blogged about far more and the topic of many more magazine stories.

unfortunately i think we can come up with all kinds of reasons why this story isn't as covered, and most of them are valid, but i agree that racism is likely one of them as well... :sad:

Yeah, there's so much discourse on this type of thing and why it tends to happen like this.


I think race is probably a significant factor, but also, I look at it this way: Charlie Sheen would probably be handled differently because he has been on the scene longer and has more "pull" in the industry in comparison to Chris Brown.

I don't understand why someone would have to see physical proof to say it is just as bad. What about the abusers who deliberately inflict injuries in places and in manners that are not visible to the public eye? Does that always mean it isn't as bad because you can't SEE it?
