Watching SOA right now and absolutely can't stand how he slips in and out of his accent.

Great acting last night and deserves an Emmy nod for this. Love that he has the ability to show his emotions when required.

I know exactly how you feel. I like him on the show, think he's great for the character...hell I like him in general but he needs to get that accent slip under control. Every time he slips, it kills the scene for me.

I was arguing with my DH about his accent last night. I said I found it distracting, and he said "well he's English". I said "well, you shouldn't be able to tell!". I don't even think he sounds English, his accent just sounds... off.

That accent was weird irish? dont know and can't win an Emmy with good acting but speaking a strange native accent. If he plays an American born in California, should not have accent.

Charlie commented once that he concentrated so much on doing an American accent in Season 1 & 2 that he felt his acting suffered because of that. I think that could be the case now. He has some really heavy duty scenes to do so maybe the accent slips now and again. Probably easier said than done until you try it.

Lots of British/Australian/Irish/Etc actors do it with no problem. Think he can't help it and offered that as an excuse. Unfortunately, if he's chasing an Emmy nod, it's not going to happen until he gets that under control.

Well, they're done filming and there's only 2 episodes left. So I doubt we'll see a change.
