changing your eye colour permanently

My eyes are pretty plain - a very dark brown - but I like them. I wouldn't try to change them to a lighter color because both the contacts and the surgery leaves people with fake-looking eye colors. I like the natural flecks of different colors in natural blue and green and hazel eyes, and I like the intensity of naturally dark eyes. A friend of mine has one blue eye and one brown eye, and his eyes are mesmerizing just the way they are. Eyes are said to be the window to the soul, and I just think that changing them only clouds that window.

wow...talk about being able to change all identifying traits. It's one thing to be capable of changing one's hair color... It sounds kind of like science fiction to be able to change one's eye color. I would also be afraid of this surgery until it becomes extremely common.

I have to agree with all the above. Think of the potential consequences if you were to have constant pain, loss or problems with your vision. Many of these complications could take years or even decades before doctors realize they can happen with this surgery. That's a lot to be willing to sacrifice for green eyes.

It does sound a bit scary. You should definitely wait until you can be sure that the surgery is safe. Wear colored contacts until then and see if green really feels right. Just because you like green eyes, it was not what you were born with and it might not feel like truly you.

Can change the color but can never fake the genes!

I do not understand why not just be happy with what you are born with?

Besides, eye is a very sensitive area where the tiniest of mistake will take away an eyesight, or even implicate how the eye ages... hell no way would I do this procedure.

I could never change my eye color. My eyes are one of my favorite features. Plus, I'm TERRIFIED of losing my eyesight!

Here's a pic of my baby blues:

I never knew that you could do this. I personally think it is really scary. I had colored contacts for a while and got tired of them. It turns out that I actually liked my original eye color better.
