I see many celebrities wearing the woc, I’m sure that’s not all they can afford.

I bought my first and only Chanel 9 years ago. it's the Black Caviar Classic flap M/L. I have to admit that i only used it a handful of times so far and it's still collecting dusts in my closet. As a Mom of two young kids, in the past 5-6 years, my go-to bag is a WOC (SF,YSL,TB) plus a tote (aka, diaper bag, lol). so now i am considering splurging on a Chanel WOC. For my lifestyle, it will be the most functional thing. It can fit all my necessities -- cards, bills, car key and phone. As for minis, they don't have card slots and you will need to put a wallet in which seems to be inefficient.
I agree, i had a ml cf and sold it. Woc on the other hand, love it alot. Now i have one in red but i want on in other colors as well. I really like the flat design and magnetic closure . Easy opening wins
I have a WOC and use it more often than the CF, especially during 2020. I only carry a phone, car key and a few cards. It’s light, goes from day to night.
Love the WOC! You can wear it even while having dinner, driving in the car, dancing, and of course traveling . Its a great bag when you are at a place where you cant take your bag off and at the same time want to be hands free. I do agree that the chain is to long but creative ways to shorten the chain do exist.
my first chanel was/is a WOC. i bought it when i couldn't fathom spending thousand of dollars/pounds on another Chanel bag. so, yes i bought it because i couldn't afford a proper bag then. i never thought and still don't think it is something to be ashamed of. for a long time it was my only Chanel piece and i was buying less expensive designer bags (Chloe, Balenciaga, Celine...). fast forward now, i own 2 WOCs (that are still being regularly used), a reissue, a CF, a boy bag, a trendy cc, a coco handle... who cares what other people think, most people cannot even afford or even care for WOC or any other designer handbag anyway. i wish people could see beyond their wealthy, priveledged bubble.
i don't have a classic rectangular or square mini, but i would say if you can afford the price difference go for the mini. i love and use my WOCs because they are less casual and don't look too done up. i even carry mine by the pool for my phone and resort card etc. and don't have to worry about messing up a pricier bag.

Honestly who cares, the WOC is $3000 which is not cheap at all. I have two CF, used to own a mini but sold it because don’t want to baby a lambskin bag, I’m now getting a WOC yes the chain is super long but now Chanel offers a “link” to shorten it inside, at least in France my SA showed me and will send it to me with the WOC.
Of my 2 minis and 2 WOCs, I used my black classic WOC constantly until I got my mini reissue (which is definitely my most used bag in my entire collection). They each have their pros and cons, so it depends on your style and what you’re looking to carry.
Hi, I have two black classic minis in lambskin and one black WOC in caviar. Even though the minis fit more and look more sophisticated and luxurious imo, I use my WOC more because it’s in caviar and I don’t have to worry about it at all. So I think it depends how much you would like to carry and whether you are someone who worries about your bags getting scratched etc.
Either way, both pieces are so beautiful and classic that you can’t go wrong no matter what you decide! good luck and let us know what you’ve chosen.

I have woc and mini, and I def reach for woc more frequently than the mini even though it's newer, just because it's caviar. I also carry minimum amount of stuff (cardholder and keys) so woc is actually (more?) perf.
As for mini, I went through a bunch of YT vid to see mod shots to see if I like square or rectangle, and got rectangle.

I second this - watched a lot of YT videos, but it took me seeing a square in person to solidify my decision on purchasing the rectangle (and I never looked back).
