Same with many here, my first Chanel was a WOC. It was my first dip at Chanel handbags but I don’t consider it as something people will buy because they can’t afford the regular size bags. I have friends who only have WOCs too and it’s not because they can’t afford a regular size Chanel bag. It’s just what their lifestyles need and what they like to use. I sold my WOC because of the chain length and for me it wasn’t holding enough of my essentials. I kept it for many years even when I wasn’t using it because I wanted to keep and love it. But in the end, it really wasn’t for me. I bought 2 rectangular minis since and I love them more because they hold more for me. I recently bought the mini WOC and already used it a lot that I can tell I’m going to love it even more than my minis. I’m glad they came out with the mini WOC. I think it’s the perfect mini bag for me. I love using it.
I say get the bag that you love and that will make you happy. Don’t worry about what others will think.

Ladies I can’t thank you enough for your responses! I genuinely enjoyed reading each of them! Glad to know that most people thought it was strange of an opinion since I assumed it might be common! I do love the WOC as it fits my casual outfits and I felt like the regular was too big / flashy for my personal preference (: no hate to the YouTube tho of course that is her own personal opinion, I was just surprised to see such a specific opinion for a luxury high end bag!

I never thought I would want a WOC, and the price IS exorbitant for what it is. But wow, I sure do love mine! It's perfect to fit into a larger bag and pull out if you want to go lighter for the day or evening. I love the long zippered compartment, which is great for a passport/cash when in airports and traveling. I think the use of space is just awesome, between the card slots, pockets, and zippered areas. It's a win for me.

I buy brands other than Chanel, and am really enjoying my Gucci SuperMini, so I don't feel the need for a mini Chanel. I do have a small classic flap, and I think between that and the WOC, I have my smaller Chanel options covered. The small flap is pretty, well, small. The suggestion to buy an inexpensive WOC at Zara or some other store to "test drive" it before buying the Chanel version is very smart.

And one last thing...as said by someone upstream...if what you really want it a flap bag, the WOC will not satisfy you. Completely different item, and meant to be so!

A lot of people are into the whole designer on a budget thing. You see people rocking actual vanity's or toiletry bags as regular bags. Buy a phonecase with handle instead of the pricier clutch. Get a woc and use a baginsert to make it more like a minibag.

Wear what you want and buy what you love. If you have money to burn, go for it. If you don't, get a woc from Zara. If you used that for a while, you know if a woc can carry your essentials. For me that also makes it easier to asses if I want something because it's a trend, if it actually fits my lifestyle or I just fell for a certain brand.

Do you love the Zara woc, then you will also love the Mulberry, Gucci and Chanel woc. Do you not even want to use it because Zara is not Chanel, then you're doing it for the brand.

eh I add an insert into my WOCS and I own a chanel bag in almost every size. It's not a budget thing

I didn't mean to imply that a woc insert means that the wearer doesn't have enough money to buy an actual bag, but I do know people who wear a woc because they can't afford a bag.

Some people don't have the funds, do not want to buy counterfeit items or give up the dream of a premier designer item. For them toiletry bags, phone holders, a woc, card case, keychain or cosmetics are just the best value for money.

Wow I’m shocked she said that! I actually like watching her YouTube videos. I guess I missed that one. It seems like she knew she was going to offend some people because she started with “no offense...”. Sometimes if you are going to start a sentence off with that phrase, it’s just best not to say it.

With that being said.......I have a Chanel woc, and it was my second Chanel purchase after the mini square. I feel offended because when I bought the woc I bought it because I couldn’t fathom spending 6k on a classic m/l flap. LOL so in a way she is right. Later on I ended up purchasing six more actual Chanel bags. Lol. Ahem. So it’s not a matter of whether one can afford it but whether one is willing to spend that much!

I still have my woc. It is so not practical for me, but I love the way it looks. The flatter woc, in my opinion, looks more elegant to me than my minis. The minis more practical but are boxy and stick out more like the other PFers mentioned. Honestly, I’ve contemplated selling both because I’m just into bigger bags now.

I think everyone should wear what they like and works best for their lifestyle! We should all be happy for each other’s designer purchases since we all worked hard to earn them.

I have never thought of the Chanel WOC as something someone might buy just because it's a "cheaper" item. I find it more functional and casual than a mini while still retaining a classic style. I still intend to get one as I'm generally getting into smaller bags (no reason to carry so much these days).

Hey ladies! I was watching a YouTube video about bags that aren’t appealing and I was surprised to see the Chanel woc. The lady in the video described the woc as a “literal wallet on chain, looks like you couldn’t afford a regular Chanel and bought this one” and I was pretty shocked honestly! I love the woc and was debating on buying one but this video made me think about just buying the regular instead if there’s a bad stigma around the woc! Let me know your thoughts below (:
Oh boy...I know who you are talking about because I rolled my eyes when she said that! I use my wocs much more frequently than my mini rectangular and other Chanels. you have to put things in perspective...these influencers have opinions that are no more important than any average person’s opinion or your own opinion. when I first got into designer bags and laid eyes on a Chanel woc, I remember thinking how classy and elegant looking it was! When I see a woman carrying a Chanel WOC, all I think is “Wow...she has great taste In bags”!

just focus on whether the woc works for you or not. I used to carrymy woc along with my diaper bag...but as I’m getting older, I find carrying just my essentials convenient. If I could only keep one chanel, it would be a woc!

Just so you know...this lady owns the ysl flat pouch. Same thing could be said about that pouch that she uses as a clutch. “it looks like a pouch. Looks like you couldn’t afford a ysl clutch or proper handbag.” My point is that it doesn’t matter what she thinks. I don’t dislike her but I do dislike it when people make snobby assumptions and comments!

Personally, I don’t care about anyone options on what bag, or, wallet I choose purchase. I have a beautiful red chevron bag that I purchased 15 years ago, when I saw the WOC I knew that I wanted it. I carry it when I’m going out, or, if I'm going shopping. So, with that being said, ladies, follow what you like and not allow some ‘ YouTuber’ tell you what to purchase!

I love my Chanel WOC. But then again, I only use it for places that I only need my phone, ID and card...so like to a restaurant/bar or get together. I do not use it as an everyday bag as it would never fit all my essentials. My wristlet with all the many loyalty cards I have and make up would never fit in there. Having said that, I have not worn it since COVID because I have no where to go. Deffo not practical for Walmart or Groceries.
