Chanel WOC- is it worth it?

I think the WOC is worth it if you are using it while running errands and don’t need much. Just a note: sunglasses will not fit even with a base shaper.

I can fit a good amount of items in it with the base shaper (iPhone 11, hand sanitizer, pocket tissues, card cases, keys, lip balm). If you are putting more than that, I would go with a mini instead.

Hi everyone,

New to the Chanel forums but been participating in the LV forum for a while.

I saw questions on strap length of the WOC potentially being too long. This is the WOC worn crossbody on a 5’5” frame.
You’re a lifesaver! I’ve been looking for someone who’s 5’5 and modeling this bag. I’m 5’5 and I just want to know if it’s really THAT LONG as what everyone is saying.

But how do you find the length? Is it okay? Or are there times when you find it too long?

I’m planning to get a WOC this year as an evening/formal bag And maybe an errands bag. Do you think it’s worth to buy one for these purposes?

yes it is perfect for this purpose.
I got mine last week and I absolutely love it.
I have the mini and medium classic but find myself not reaching for the mini because its lambskin and they're quite difficult to
get hold of. medium classic flap isn't very practical with kids and a pram so the woc was my perfect everyday grab and go. I also plan to use it in the evenings. I see so many celebs loving the woc as an evening bag recently too.
I know the price is high for what it is but for me its worth it even though im only 5'4 I think it still looks great. I may get a chain shortener on amazon incase I want to use it as a shoulder bag too. I don't mind if it leaves an indentation as its my care free bag
chanel bags often have something that indents somewhere anyway whether its a zip closure, button or chain

let us know if you decide to buy!

I'm 5'5 too, and the chain is LONG. I also use a chain shortener and the perfect length really depends on you. My perfect length is WOC "within arms reach". So I can open and close the WOC comfortably while worn crossbody.

I have the YSL Mini Lou and I sort of use this length as a reference. But WOC and Mini Lou are built slightly different, so minor adjustments are required.

I’m 5’4” and own a handful of WOCs.
I initially purchased my first one in 2011 to use as a wallet in a bigger Chanel bag. At the time, I didn’t care for the “very long” strap, so I’d just tuck the strap in.
Over time I realized the strap length was actually perfect for me - when wearing it crossbody, it’s NEVER in the way or an annoyance. I can keep it on while driving, running errands, shopping and etc, and it would feel like it’s “barely there”.
It’s extremely helpful while traveling thru airports, too!

I loved my first WOC so much, I ended up adding four more over the past few years. They’re very easy to travel with, pack, etc.

Even though a Mini is “bigger”, in size, I find the WOC to be much more efficient. It has so many little compartments that come in handy!

I do use mine for multi-purposes - formal, errands, and everything in between.

I have never used an insert for my WOCs and all of them have kept their shape.

Since you're such a WOC fan, may I ask what colors you own? I have the 22K Dark Pink, and now I don't know what color to add next.

I thought about black, but that's so everywhere and I do have many black Chanel bags.
White, I worry about threading getting dirty.
Beige, I'm not really a beige person.

Arghhh....

I know what you mean - I’ve always wanted a white WOC but can’t get myself to actually purchase that color :crybaby:.
If black works for you then I wouldn’t worry about it being everywhere.
But,
Ask yourself - if you had a black WOC, do you see yourself reaching for it, or would it sit there collecting dust because you’d be reaching for other black Chanel bags in your collection?

 I was going to suggest beige! Did you ever try one on?
But if it’s not your style then….:confused1:.
Maybe you need a metallic color?
I personally find metallic goes with everything, but I know it’s not for everyone.
Perhaps a Silver or Gold?

My WOC colors are Black, Mint Green, (Bright) Red, (Electric) Blue, and a Metallic that is kind of like a *neutral metallic*? I believe the official color was called “Copper”.

I also love white but im not brave enough.

Metallic is a fantastic idea. They are so special. I will keep an eye out. I also love electric blue and red! Love your collection!

But I think perhaps in the back of my mind black will always be there. So maybe a black WOC with a tiny bit of twist (a seasonal piece).

Hahaha. I will wait a while for my next WOC. I'm making myself wear my Dark Pink WOC as much as possible.

3 weeks ago when I was at Osaka airport, I saw so many beautiful WOCs. Classics and seasonal. There were also a few very colorful ones too. It was sensory overload, and that's when I realized I wasn't ready for another one yet if I don't know what exactly to get next.

Thanks for this! We're about the same height.

I tried picturing how long it would be given the dimensions and the edge of the wallet will land mid-thigh when I used a measuring tape. I'm just thinking maybe it's going to dangle around and would be a hassle in the end, especially at a party.

Cool thanks for the feedback. I think I would be wearing it over the shoulder more than crossbody since my intention in buying this is to use it as a formal bag.

Thank you so much! The red and blue were actually purchased from two separate people I know who were going to part with their WOCs via consignment. The red was only used a handful of times, and the Electric Blue was brand new, sitting in a box for a couple years. I feel lucky to have been able to add them to my collection because I did not get the opportunity to purchase them when they were first available.

I do agree with you that a special seasonal black WOC might be the right black for you  .
As far as metallics, I also have a Gold East West Flap (in my profile photo) and a Silver Filigree Flap. It's so effortless to grab a metallic shade for any outfit, dressed up or down.

If Chanel makes a Filigree WOC again, that might be another fun option for you .
Whenever you do purchase your next one, please let us know . I believe you'll see one in the future and will just know it is meant to be yours!
Until then, enjoy your 22K Dark Pink .
