Personally, I’m petite so I like the square mini but appreciates the practicality of the top handle as well.

The dark beige does look more neutral while the caramel is probably more saturated in color.

Well my square mini is now available lol, I’m going in to get the top handle mini tomorrow. I’m also very petite so that’s why I snagged the square mini. Ugh short ppl probs..

Hi! Question - I bought a classic flap from bergdorfs and the dust bag it came with was a lot cheaper feeling (thinner and linen-like, not fuzzy) like previous Chanel purses that I’ve bought. Does anyone know if this is normal now for the brand? Also, not to be a stickler but there also wasn’t a felt covering for the front of the classic flap where the buckle is for storage. I’m hoping it’s not because it was purchased at BG rather than at a standalone boutique. This is my first time buying from department stores so I wanted to check! Thank you!

Yes this the new style dust bag. I have also not received the felt with a few recent purchases and it also annoys me as I’m very ocd about storage. I do think the felt are important especially to prevent the zip from creating an indent on the inner flap. I only purchase from the standalone boutiques and I’m not sure what the reasons are for the missing felts.

Thank you! Yeah I’m very ocd about storage too so it was really bugging me so wanted to see what other people’s experiences were. Sigh…for something that keeps going up in price too. Thanks for chiming in!

I would say the 23P dark beige is very similar to 18S beige in that it’s a warm true caramel beige but it’s matt flat colour (as 18S was quite iridescent). It strongly reminds me of Hermes gold which is very warm but not orange. I prefer the champagne hardware against this colour compared to the combination of Hermes gold with the ghw as their hardware is very yellow and I find it too warm overall.

The caviar is the same as the other flaps this season, firm and well structured. I do think there is a very warm undertone but it’s not orange. 19B is much more neutral in comparison. I think if you have a caramel shade already then you don’t need the 23P but if you don’t then it’s a great one!

For me…my two favourites of this line up are the 23P Ecru and the 19B. Only because they are the most versatile and easy to style and I will get the most use out of them.

Thank you SO MUCH for this very detailed reply! I think I will hold off on the 23p dark beige. I love the firm caviar this season but I already own a few dark beige classics so this one might be a bit repetitive. Congrats on adding both beauties to your lovely collection! And thank you so much for sharing the photos and all of the detailed information... it helps people like me without a nearby boutique SO MUCH :heart:

I have received classics in the past without the felt and it drove me crazy. I am super OCD about my bag storage. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it... sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't. I just bought a pack of the thinnest white felt I could find from amazon and used my previous felts as the pattern and cut my own. I bought black too but mostly use the white in case of color transfer. I only use the Amazon black felt on my black bags. Hope that helps!

Im so glad you found it helpful! I find this forum so useful myself especially for colour references as sometimes its impossible to tell from photos and sometimes I need to make a decision on photos alone.

This is such a good tip about the felts! It makes me crazy too when things are missing and you never really find out until you get home what exactly is in the box and if everything is in order!
