My store received the mini I want but they won’t hold it for me. I can’t make it to the store until tomorrow and anyone can walk in and buy it in the meantime. Is that normal?

Yes, although the policy varies by store, most stores won’t hold bags unless there are exceptional circumstances (i.e. you are flying in from another state to pick up the bag).

Can’t they take your payment remotely? I believe they can take remote payment for classics for you to pick up in person, just can’t ship them to you.

I’m hoping someone can help me with this one, I am wanting to check out the 23p seasonal black flap bag (will insert image). Could someone in the UK let me know if they have seen this in stores? And also anyone with an idea of how likely I will be to get it? Im
Slightly anxious about going into London this weekend to hunt it down so any help would be greatly appreciated

No they don’t allow it. I can only purchase in person. I couldn’t leave today because I have work and other commitments. Most stores will reserve something for at 24 hours. I think it’s a really bad rule. Do they really expect us to throw everything and go rush to the store for a bag?

Is this your first time shopping at this store and/or with this SA?

The SM at my store won’t allow holds, but my SA can ring up a bag w/ my CC info, then I can pick up the bag any time, and if at time of pick I decide I don’t like it, she’ll process a return on the spot.

Yeah I’ve only purchased remotely from other states. I’ve never had any luck with SAs in my local store :(

Bergdorf's pulls this crap also. The day of the launch this Sa tells me they are only selling to customers physically in the store. They won't even give you a chance in my case to get to the store within a hour. Where the Chanel stand alone boutique the Sa texted me a picture and I told him the time I will be at the store and he said no problem. Bloomingdale's will hold for a certain time to allow you to get to the store.

Ah ok, this may be the reason you couldn’t pay for it beforehand. New clients tend to be given less leeway sometimes.

Given the way Chanel is restricting their classic line, it might be worth it to try to engage an SA long term locally, if you are after more popular bags like minis.

I’ve tried so many times. I don’t know why they’re like this. I asked two SAs in the two stores we have for a mini from 21s before the reservations opened. They told me they’d let me know when they open and I’d have to go to the store and give them my credit card info. I have no issue with that. Both of them didn’t bother contacting me and when I asked again in a few weeks they said no sorry reservations this bag are all done. I saw the same bag from my local store being resold on fb groups. I don’t like having to chase a bag. It ruins the fun of shopping.

Unfortunately with highly popular items, they get sold in seconds! So instant win for the SAs! There are no incentives for holding it for potential buyers who may not like it in the end when they already have a buyer ready to pounce. Except of course, if you’re a valued client of that SA and these rules somehow become more arbitrary.

Yeah it’s good for business but sucks for casual buyers like me. Hopefully they’ll get another one soon and I get the chance to get it
