Saw this on IG from pursonalize - a bit of a summery red and light yellow

These *are* very cute colors. I like this bag a lot, I’m hoping it comes out in even more colors. I don’t really need a summery red - I don’t own a red bag now and probably only need to own 1... not sure this is the color but if they made the right green, pink, or blue ...

@Prettyinpnknwht. As I was writing this it occurred to me that Chanel is essentially now outsourcing their quality control to consumers too, since the onus is on us to make sure we're not getting defective bags.
Agree at this statement at 100%. At what price point do we as consumers start holding these companies responsible for sloppy quality control? A bag at 6000.00 and above I shouldn't have examine it very closely looking for defects.

I recall that Chanel use to return defective bags back to Paris before they reached the floor. I am not sure what the policy is now when there are visible defects, I believe they don't even it return the items but put it out on the floor. They make us feel like we are 'lucky' to have an opportunity to buy such a popular bag in this color. I just finished watching a Youtuber showing the poor quality of the chain on the 21P rectangular mini in the caramel color. These bags are over $4k USD and $5k CDN but nothing is done about the quality. I love Chanel but the constant quality issues is making me pause on some purchases but sadly (once I forget and I get 'dazzled' by the latest offerings) I will continue to buy and I hope I get the 'best one in the batch/shipment' that day. This is a true internal struggle. Lol.

I was in store the other day looking at a pastel mini, the chain had the exact same issue as the YouTube video you refer to. I thought it was just not set properly from the start and once set it wouldn’t be a problem.... apparently not. So it seems like this may be an issue with the new and upcoming minis... which is very upsetting being that it’s such an expensive bag.

Exactly what i thought. Most of the time especially with popular shades, it's like buying a pig in a poke. I even had to put 50% deposit straight away and could not even choose the stock. Just pray it's a good bag batch. It's like a privilege already to be able to score one. This would not be the issue if the quality follows. Hence from my latest 21P caramel purchase, i've already felt the unworthiness. With a price of car, i expect a much better and sturdier quality with the bag. As we see from vintage even in decades, the structure holds but i do feel concern with the current bags if we don't quite baby them. I want to fully enjoy them without being easily deteriorate as well. I'm afraid i wont get the value i've paid for.

I was looking at a square mini (21P) that happened to be on the shelf and the flap was noticeably misaligned. One side was lower than the other. I gently pushed the sides in on the bag to try to even out the misalignment but I couldn't. I spent a good 5 seconds when I thought why am I doing this? Shouldn't quality control have handled this first before shipping to the store? My SA agreed with me that it was noticeably misaligned and I jokingly said to her that someone will buy it. I do feel sorry for the new Chanel customers that have not built up their Chanel collection as they will grab whatever bag they can get. I will say that the lambskin these days have a coating so it appears more sturdier but since this seems to be a new process on lambskin, we don't know how it will age. Yes, buyer beware and we (customers) have to check the bag, hardware, popped stitch, etc in its entirety. It is not only the chain we have to look at it but everything about the bag. Agreed, these bags are expensive and the prices will continue to go up in the upcoming years.

I have been shopping and buying Chanel for years and I am not even close to VVIP status. However, I have worked with a couple of dedicated SAs over the years so it has helped slightly to get some things. One thing I dislike about putting a deposit is that you don't get to see what you are buying and that is why I never accept this method of payment to secure an item. It is really risky to pay for something you haven't seen in person because you accept the item as is. I am not sure which country you are from but in Canada, you only get a store credit or an exchange. I am not a big fan of holding x,xxx in store credit so that does not work for me. The days of choosing the best from the batch no longer exists for regular customers. Maybe VVIP status members get to pick and choose the best of the batch. I am wondering whatever they do not want, is this passed on to the regular customer? I am sad as I am writing this. I've looked at other brands but it doesn't interest me as Chanel does. Yes, very sad as I will continue to buy and I will have to manage my expectations of the declining quality.
