I would strongly advise you find your mini elsewhere! I’m happy to share the info of a lovely SA at Bloomies NYC who tracked down a perfect black square mini for me if you’re ok with not trying it on first. SF is just abysmal for Chanel shopping (even moreso now that Saks doesn’t have shoes). Pablo and Aiko at NM SF are helpful, and Pedro at NM Palo Alto is wonderful too. When I went to Chanel in SF two weeks ago, they were incredibly blasé about my interest in a mini square in leather. They have a 50+ person/year long waitlist according to the SA i worked with. Lonna is helpful and sweet if you can get an appointment with her. I will say they have the full suite of Les Exclusifs perfumes and other beauty products if you’re interested and usually a good SLG collection, but from shoes to bags, I don’t find Chanel SF to be worth the hassle it will entail.

Agree on Pablo at NM being very helpful!

Also I just thought of something that could be a good option—TheRealReal has a brick and mortar shop super close to Chanel and NM in SF, and they have a pretty decent selection of Chanel there (varies by week). I’ve seen a few good minis there over the past few months! Just a few minutes walk, and no appointment needed :)

Stopped by SF NM yesterday and they had black caviar M/L classic flaps with SHW stock, as well as a few in lambskin. I also saw a few jumbos. Not sure about minis, but might be worth it to check them out too. Chanel leases the NM space so it’s a boutique too and also much easier to get appointments than the standalone around the corner. The SAs are all very nice!

I agree that Aiko is wonderful - she always tries her hardest to help me out and get me items that I want and is so sweet

I was curious how does one know when a space is leased or not? I’ve heard that Chanel is going to “own” all spaces soon, but is it just any location that pops up on their boutique finder on the website? Thank you for the intel as well, I’ll definitely have to stop by soon

I wish I could say the same thing about Lonna but she was only nice when I purchased an item from her. Before and after that wasn’t a very good experience for me.

I found out the SF NM is leased out because my SA happened to mention it when we were chatting. He said he is a Chanel employee, not NM. It was news to me too... I wonder if it’s a new thing because of Chanel taking over all spaces soon like you mentioned.

And yes definitely pay them a visit soon if you can. SA said they’ve been getting more items than the boutique on Geary as of late!

I completely agree with you about Lonna whom I just met for the first time today. My friend and I walked in today to check out the stocks on CCH and some card holders. Lonna escorted us around. She wasn’t too happy when we didn’t make a purchase and didn’t even offer to give us her business card till I asked for it.

We didn’t buy anything there but I got a pair of espadrilles at NM SF bcuz the SA there was so nice!

It truly seems that for SF shopping, NM is simply the only way to go! I had a very similar experience with CC and I was very disappointed (she was upset I was “only buying” shoes and beauty products not the jewelry) and wouldn’t share her business card. I’m so grateful for the NM Chanel boutique and the very kind team there. They are always so considerate and have great stock, it seems it will only keep getting better from here given Chanel is in charge of that location/allow them to get more items.

I have been to several Chanel's. Usually when I travel I do my Chanel shopping. The SF Chanel is the only one I have ever been to where they did not offer me a card. Further, strange to me at the time, was that I was wearing Chanel and I am knowledgeable about the product. However, I walked out with barely a smile from the SA. I had also found that the treatment they were given other customers was also fair to poor...they tried to rush some young ladies who were at the beauty counter. I had overheard the SA say to them, "well you can just go online and get that." This is sort of unspeakable when it comes to Chanel as the service has always been top notch no matter who it is and what one is purchasing.

It is a paltry selection and fair service compared to their cohorts across the globe. This is good to hear that NM SF also has a Chanel.
