Thank you so much! Appreciate it! I will get the camel/black ballets!
I think it depends for what occasion you want to wear them, the ballet flats are perfect for every day use, and the gold shoes are better for special occasions or going out. I personally would choose the ballet flats, the gold shoes would be too sparkly for me, but I think that really depends on the individual lifestyle. But I really like the shape of the sparkly shoe. And tbh, who wouldn't love some glitter after the last 1.5 years with covid?

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to walk through this with me! I am sold on the camel/black ballets!
Hi! For me, I would get the classic ballets in beige/black if you do not already own them. I have them and also the black/black, as well as many other colors.

I would say the two color combos I wear the most are the beige/black and white/black (summer). I also have an all beige, but it's not the same without that contrast black cap toe.

I almost never wear my black/black ballets. I bought them because they were classic, but quite frankly, they are boring, and I like to make more of a statement with my shoes. Unless you love wearing black shoes, I would skip them. Yes, they are super safe and don't show dirt, but to me, they are also super boring and on the edge of looking stuffy. Even when I wear all black, the beige/black ballet combo rocks! I never reach for my black/black.

I have also had metallic ballets... I had a gold pair and also a silver pair. At the time, they were so cool and trendy. I wore them during the season I purchased them, and then after that, almost never, so I got rid of them. I'm also not really a metallic shoe person as a general statement (e.g. no sequins for me!), so after buying two pairs and also getting rid of them, I will not buy metallic shoes again.

I would say if you love metallic shoes and wear them all the time, get them as they are different.
If you are not really a metallic shoe person, and only want them now because they are trendy, I would skip them. The metallic trend is a trend that is very black & white to me. Meaning... when they are in fashion, they are very trendy. But once they are out if fashion, they look very dated and Las Vegas disco to me.

A classic ballet flat is timeless. That's just me to share my thoughts. I know it's all preference.
Hope this helps, and good luck in your decision.

Hi all, I am debating between two pairs of shoes right now. Would love to hear your opinion. They are very different! But they both appeal to me. The ballerinas are classic (although I am leaning towards camel/black instead of just black) and the gold sparkly pair are so cool. Let me know your thoughts!
I would go with the classic black. The others are SPARKLY! But if you can, get both!

I really like the “dad” sandals but it’s pretty pricey. Do you think it is too trendy?
Trendy? Yes. But for me, Chanel is all about buying the classics that last, or the hot trendy item.
If you love them, go for it. I expect people will still wear them for a few more seasons.

Remember those Chanel Jelly thong sandals everyone had to have? They were sold out everywhere and people were paying a premium for them. Well, I just had to get two pairs. I loved them, wore them everywhere, and yes, I felt so trendy at the time! They are so out of fashion now, I got rid of mine, but I loved them at the time. Were they worth it? For sure! Go for it if they speak to you!

If you want something more lasting but still screams Chanel, go for the thong sandals. I have several pairs and they seem to be turning into classics.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. I will get them to try to get peace of mind if I love them as much as I think I do.

Hello everyone!
Somehow I ripped the leather on the heel of my beloved slingback shoes!
I took the shoes to Chanel yesterday, the SA was lovely and very helpful, the shoes will be sent to repair in France.
I already miss the shoes  they are the only pair of heels I find comfortable enough to wear all day long.
Does anyone have experience with shoe repair at Chanel?

My boutique finally had the beige espadrilles in my size! The leather is so buttery soft, i love them! Can't wait to wear them out (unfortunately it's very rainy here in Germany at the moment )
They will look so cute with a white summer dress

Quick update on my slingbacks:
My chanel boutique just called me, the shoes came back from Paris and apparently could not be repaired...

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good cobbler in Germany?

Oh, I am so bummed for you. Why even waste your time accept the repair if they are going to reject it?
I expect COVID and policy changes are probably the cause.

I would think you can find a good cobbler in Germany. Below is a company that does a lot of repairs in the U.S. They also provide service to big retailers in the U.S. such as Bergdorf Goodman. I have used them for big issues, and they are very good.

I really do think you can find someone local. I recall your heel still has the leather, it is just "pushed up" and now the white plastic is exposed. Very common problem, especially with spiked heels that get stuck in sidewalk cracks. Anyway, here is a link so you can browse their gallery for their before/after work. This might help you for ideas to use text for your google search of nearby cobblers.

This is really not an unusual issue to have with a leather heel. It has happened to me through the years. Please keep us posted on your repair. I can't imagine that a local cobbler could not fix that. Im disappointed that Chanel did not repair or replace the heel.

Does anybody with wide feet own the slingbacks? Recently bought a pair (beige/black) two days ago, I bought a 38 since the 39 was too big on me. Do you ever need to wear them on/off to stretch the toe box? My toe nail beds got small blisters from rubbing against it while I walked for 4 hours. :whut: I love the way they look on me so I won’t be returning them at all

I know this was awhile ago, but wanted to share that I used to own the flat Chanel slingbacks and espadrilles. I’m a 7-7.5 and got 38 in both. While I LOVED the look (still do), my toes were smushed and toe nails were… bad. Took a few days for my feet to recover. Gave up.

With all that said, my feet are very wide… I wear a 37 regular/wide in Birkenstocks and sometimes even that’s not wide enough. Hopefully you’ve already found the 38.5 and the sizing is better for you!

When I inspected these shoes at the boutique, I narrowed in on checking for any scratches or scuffs that I did not notice the toe box material was in different directions. I feel sillly missing an important detail. I already wore these out and I’m out of my 14 day return window but I’m posting this for anyone interested in these shoes what else to look for.2D1F785E-59C3-43B7-A97E-728CD5DE92C5.jpeg

Thank you for the link! I looked at the before/after pictures, and like you said, it shouldn't be a problem that my shoes can be repaired. I'll pick the shoes up and bring them to the cobbler tomorrow.

If this bothers you, I would ask for a new pair even if this is past the return period. You do not want to return it. Rather, you just noticed this difference. I checked my fabric capped toe shoes, and I have a pair that runs vertical while another pair runs horizontal. But they run the same way for the pair. It is a matched pair of shoes.

If this bugs you, I would reach out to the store, and if you aren not successful, I would contact corporate.
You can hardly see it to be frank, so it's more does this bug you mentally or can you live with it.
