I know I’ve posted something similar before, but I am really annoyed and and so I’m posting again - how are recent and current season items WITH TAGS showing up on TRR??? I just missed a Coco 2021 bucket hat on TRR with tags that, for three months I haven’t even been able track down in a boutique or store! Even if you have a million dollar a year clothing budget, the process of returning a current season item to your Chanel SA is FAR easier than packing it up and mailing it to TRR for half price.

These items are either fakes or they’re being “procured” unscrupulously by Chanel SAs and sold on TRR. I can’t even fathom any other alternate explanations.
To make you feel better I would hesitate getting hats from trr because they rarely include hat sizes… and sizes are important!

not the bucket hat that jenlee is referring to but I ran to TRR trying to find which hat they were talking about and found this monstrosity… Yikes

lol! Those are awful. I was looking for the Coco “ABC Store” Bucket Hat. I couldn’t find one to save my life when they were released to the boutiques a month or so ago.

Interesting on the new w tag items. I always wondered that too ! Never seen that many though. I think there is a 2 week window for return … after for store credit only I think.

Brooklynite, in previous seasons when neimans wasn’t lease sometimes items would show up super late. My sa would always tell me when items were canceled. It seems when hybrid lease occurred now items show up more quickly and there is less lag. I hope you get what you are waiting for :)

I was told by a friend that lots of RTW fake items were sold where she lives. She buys lots of Chanel and she said she can see the difference especially in the materials, but she told me that most of the last Metier D’art collection was copied and sold in a shop that imports all the fakes from China.
This for example is a fake jacket allegedly bought from there..
I decided not to buy most coveted items, but she said that everything is copied..

that's concerning. Also, you would think that Metier tweeds are hard to copy...esp. lesage?
Pigleto, thank you!

NWT items on TRR: I had always thought that people bought them on sale, and then they realized that they didn't need them, so they had TRR handle? Did you ladies mean the items that haven't been on sale yet? I was told by my TRR rep long time ago that many ladies who list items are super rich and they buy rackets of clothing each season. Then they sell many of them the next season, some pristine/never worn. Another major source of perfect items are actresses who only wear clothing once for a press event, etc.

I always liked to imagine that’s the case but more and more I seem to been seeing items “with tags” that are still on the racks in boutiques. The hat I mentioned was just released in boutiques 3-4 weeks ago. At the time I was calling my SAs looking for one and there were none available. Now 3 weeks after its release it’s on the RealReal? Something just doesn’t add up.

It could've been for a number of reasons: the hat was gifted, expensed on a job, etc... In those cases I don't see why not just sell the hat for whatever amount they can sell instead of keeping something they wouldn't use. There are a lot of fashion insiders selling on TRR so honestly I'm not at all surprised.

OMG this reminded me of seeing “Chanel tweed” being sold on Esty! Of course they don’t mention it’s Chanel or it’s actually made by one of the ateliers, but they definitely try to imply that it’s Chanel tweed by showing related things in their photos. They are not cheap, too! Always 230 and more USD per yard. I know LVMH sells unused fabrics to professionals but does Chanel do the same and someone used a loophole? I wonder if these are knock-offs or it’s an inside job… Some are quite intricate! If they are knockoffs.. with that kind of craftsmanship it’s such a pity they decided to copy fabric designs that are not really theirs…

Very interesting observation...whoa.

Back to TRR, their listed prices have gone nuts. I saw a Greece coat that was sold for 2k+ I think, and then it showed up again (probably someone who missed the return date) but was listed at $4k. It's exactly the same coat (because one embellishment on a button is missing). These two listings are probably only months apart. Amazing.

I have sent current season nwt items to TRR. Most recent item was outside of 2 week window and I realized the fit wasn't good. TRR has it listed right at retail so I'm taking a 30 percent loss on what I paid. I'd rather send to them then deal with all the fraud on ebay or let a pair of brand new sandals sit unworn in my closet.
As for the bucket hat....I tried so hard to get from the boutique....couldn't secure one for the life of me. Saw it pop up on TRR and I grabbed it. Not sure if the price I paid was over retail or not but fashionphile has the same coco beach bucket hat listed for 895.00
