Yes, I ended up sending it back. For the full price, the craftsmanship on this particular bag just wasn't worth it to me. Along with that exposed edge, the bottom seam was very wavy. This was my first purchase from Bag, Borrow or Steal and the bag was described as pristine. So the hunt is back on...

I am a chanel newbie and am intrigued by the 224. Id use it as an everyday crossbody bag bc I carry only a small wallet, phone, keys,and lipstick. It looks like it would transition nicely into an evening bag as well.
How hard will it be to find a black distressed 224 in shw or ghw? I live in ny and could make a trip into NYC to visit chanel boutiques. Googling around, it seems they only make seasonal variations of the 224 now? Please help! Thank you.

i think it was out recently in a shiny patent-like black material, but i personally haven't seen the calfskin black in a long time. it's no longer part of the classics line, so it's definitely hard to find in stock.

I think these mini flaps are so adorable and hoping to get one soon. I'm not sure whether to go with the 224 or classic mini flap. How do most of you wear the 224, using the single strap or double strap? Is the double strap too short to wear on the shoulder?

Hello kidrobot1, here's a link to a youtube video of someone showing what can fit in a 224. It is pretty much the same size as a mini however if you prefer the same size without the hefty price tag of $4300 then I'd recommend getting a mini which is priced at $3100 usd plus tax. The main difference between the two would be the fact that the reissue has 4 grommets vs the mini of only two. This allows you the option on wearing it as a shoulder bag when the chains are doubled up. The mini can only be manipulated to do this by wrapping the chain under the flap which can damage the sides of the bag. Good Morning Kidrobot1, oh no dear, I have the size above in the 225. I already have the small classic flap in caviar which is such a small bag and it fits the same amount of items as the rect. mini. I opted to purchase a size that is closer to the medium / large classic flap because it looked better on my tiny proportions. I am 5'3" and 102lbs. I enclose pics of what I do own. I love the reissue for being more of a casual bag. It's not as oblong as the CF but it's a great little size that offers you the option to carry more. Hope this was helpful sweetheart. The wait is over. After a long time wanting to get my hands on one cute mini reissue. There she is, in bronze distressed calfskin. The colour is darker in real life and it does change in and out of light. A very lovely early Christmas present indeed. Modelling photos are following soon.

Hi naomi99 - have you decided? I initially bought a gold reissue but then decided its not for everyday use and have since bought a black aged calfskin. I love both equally though.
