Hi! I have this bag but I can not comment on how it wears because it is one of my "museum pieces" that I still have yet to wear! It is a gorgeous piece and I must remind myself to actually USE it!:p

Yes it is the calfskin. So soft and lambskinny in texture but with wrinkles!
Having seen on other threads' discussions about bag storage, I just wanted to check whether reissue flap owners also store their bags upright with the chains pulled inside? Or is this a lambskin classic position?

I was in Paris for a few days, and my personal shopper there had one 224 in black with ghw. I'm much more into silver so i declined her offer, but now I'm wondering if I should buy it...:huh:

I just store mine stuffed with the tissue it came with, the cloth, and the chains wrapped, upright in their dust bag. I don't think it really matters though, as they are very hardy plus they can pack flat for travel - genius. :D

Thanks, LadySarah. Do you mean you flatten your bag width ways when travelling? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of keeping the bag stuffed to keep it's shape normally though?
:wondering that would be brilliantly useful though! Loving my bag - just too dinkums for words...

I don't own the mini but I can tell you that on a 5' 3" height, the 224 reissue hangs so the top of the bag hits just at the hip when worn crossbody, and below the hip if worn as one strap on the shoulder. The mini I tried on in the boutique definitely hung much lower crossbody as it is more boxy and structured in shape and therefore tends to stick out from the body more if worn on the side of the hip. This looks better worn sitting towards the front of the body, I think. The 224 looks flatter widthways and softer in shape, so conforms to the body more, in my experience. I think there are a few modelling pictures earlier in this thread.

Just to mention, I carried it as a clutch during part of the evening by drawing the chains into the bag, worked really well with the shortened chain hanging over my hand like bracelets. Forgot to to take more photos....:partyhat:
