CHANEL REISSUE

There used to be a 228 which is an equivalent of the maxi. Chanel discontinued it years ago. Back then, 227 is the equivalent of the jumbo. Only a tad bit bigger.

Yes exactly!
I loved the size of my jumbo, so I asked for a reissue that is similar sizing with jumbo, I was suggested by SA a 227.
226 was wayyyyy smaller.
It was several hundred dollars more expensive than jumbo, and I’ve always assumed it was the hardware (that pretty chain!).
I just visited Chanel website yesterday, and I couldn’t believe my eyes that 227 was renamed as “maxi” now (previously 227 was named “Large” —225 Small, 226 Medium). I had to check the bag’s dimensions to confirmed it was my 227.
Talk about confusion!
Price wise, I realised for the first time in a decade that 226 was the same price as jumbo...and 227 was the same price as maxi.

Wanted to share my first Chanel purchase, a 2.55 Reissue in small (225), black with RHW. I’m quite in love and thought it was a special moment to get her at Rue Cambon while on holiday. I’ve been using her everyday since last Wednesday. Walking around, out to lunch and dinners, and she has considerably softened up. “Settling in” I should say.

I’ve kept her base pointed. I thought this was very comfortable while traveling to have her more flat against my body. I’m more of a double chained girl, and this has made me feels more secure when walking around crowded places. Considering trying to flatten the base when I get home for a different feel.

What are your thoughts on keeping your 2.55’s base flat or bowed/pointed?

I recently got a used Reissue in chevron and someone pointed it out to me that it may be fake because the back pocket is not matching the pattern. I look around and actually found pictures of the reissue bags with the back pocket on different ways: matching the chevron, or upside down. Can someone please let me know if I should be worried about the authenticity of my bag? Thanks!

I’m around 5’2” probably a bit shorter. I find the 227 big as a cross body. I sometimes where it that way but most time wear on the shoulder with double chain

Do you ever regret getting this size or do you love it? I just recently purchased a 227 (waiting to receive it) and I’m obsessed with the color combo , but am a little hesitant on the size . I’m really hoping to love the size.

I'm 5'4, so a bit taller than you ladies, and I find it slightly too large to wear cross body. That being said, I think you should wear it that way if you enjoy it. There are no rules!
