I'll be purchasing my first Chanel bag this coming week and was wonder which size would you recommend. I'm swaying towards the large and jumbo sizes but I haven't seen many photos of them being used/worn. If you have any pics, please post!

Is there two sizes for medium? 9" and 10" ?

Does the "puffiness" of the lambskin become less puffier over time?

How do you know how old these Chanel bags are?

Also, I was wondering what you guys thought of the prices of the following. (These are ebay pre-owned prices)

1. Chanel black lambskin MEDIUM doubl flap 2.55 (10"x6.5"x3")

Hello! Welcome to Chanel!

I can answer some of your q's.

The 9" across flap is a small
The 10" across flap is a med/large

I read on the forum that the puffiness in the lambskin does get a little less puffy over time...

You can tell how old the bag is based on the serial number ... they talk about it in the Chanel authenticity tips page...http://forum.purseblog.com/chanel-shopping/chanel-authenticity-tips-308404.html

Post pix when u get your bag!

Since MissChanel28 answered most of your questions, I'll try to answer the questions about the auctions.

Given that the Chanel bags are actually authentic, these seem to be pretty fair prices for these bags. They are considered to be "vintage" although there are similar bags from the classic line, these are still older generations of Classic Flaps.

They say that the older classic flaps are of high quality and such quality is not found in the current bags anymore - so i guess you can call it "rare." Since there bags are no longer in production, the value of the bag is truly based on your love for these flaps. As for a general buyer's stand point. I feel these bags are pretty fair - they generally range between 1200 to 1400 as a fair price IMO.
