It’s quite normal but I know what you’re referring to. May I ask if you bought it online or from the store (hence have seen it prior to purchasing and didnt notice the flaw until you’ve brought it home and stared at it longer)?
I noticed that usually when starting out with these bags there’s always a shock factor when it comes to the prices (something like, oh my god I can’t believe I finally splurged on this frivolous Chanel thing) and we try to justify and tell ourselves that “yeah but it’s a perfect little thing and I deserve it (or I’ve been dreaming about it way too long). Then when we inspect every little bit and corner of the bag we realize, “oh it’s not perfect! My money might have been wasted. Should I return?” This happened to me more than 10 years ago and still happens to me even until now hahaha. I get a high buying something I’ve been dreaming about and then have that moment of assessment once I have it already.. so before I buy now, I always think about it 5x over.
At the end of the day, it boils down to how much you want to keep it. If it doesn’t make you happy, return it. If it does, keep it. There will always be another gorgeous bag to buy (believe me) it’s just a matter of encountering another swoon-worthy one.
Chanel is mix of handmade and machine sewn. I find that it’s rare to find a super perfect bag (for both CC and H at that), but H imperfections seem to be more acceptable in general since it’s completely handmade.
Let us know what you decide. In a nutshell, yes some Chanel bags are imperfect but Chanel is Chanel and they have an iconic, inspirational style, so it will be up to to discern what you would buy or not. But believe me, people will always buy and be inspired by Chanel. If you love the brand, best to buy in store or through a personal shopper who can inspect the bag thoroughly for you before you buy.Hope that helps!
Hey thanks for your long reply!! I bought it from the boutique so yeah I did look at it. Tried it on and looked inside to see the size. But I obviously wouldn't be doing much to it since it would be so weird or rude to be inspecting stitches and testing zipper or inspecting the chain. I've been just wanting to get like the CF in just black. Since it's not seasonal colors I know I can eventually get it. But this color looked really nice in the store lighting and good at home and in daylight too. So yeah I do like it.
I just think if it's my first one and it costs so much yet mine is wonky and everyone else's is not then.... I also thought about getting from 2nd hand. But I just want to get directly from the shop with my first bag under my name. Haha The light gold and this green really does look nice. So I'm just still kind of confused @_@. I do have 14 days. So hmmm. I think I will still eventually want to get a black one because everyone should have a black one right? LOL. So maybe it wouldn't matter if this bag isn't perfect? It probably won't be my one and only Chanel? But I don't want to afford another CF I might try for the mini in the future so... Hmmmm... Gosh dilemma is real.
Btw. I didn't understand your abbreviation. What is H I know CC is just the CC logo turn lock right?
