Chanel Price Increase *please include location*

Hubby and I were discussing the numerous price increases over the course of '07 and he said something that hadn't crossed my mind. "I wonder what has them scrambling so that would cause them to keep having to raisie prices." It's an interesting angle, one I certainly hadn't thought of previously. Oh there's been the oh, because they can; to keep up with other designers, etc. Maybe, but I don't know that other designers have nailed their clientele repeatedly in such a short time span.

I do know if I get caught in a hike before my waitlisted bag arrives, it's going to depend on the mood du jour whether I say send it or jam it.

That's very interesting ... I guess we'll have to stay tuned to see developments. I know for me I am still going to get a tote of some sort (as my first bag), and a couple of classic flaps. But I will definitely not get more than one per year. DH and I can certainly afford it, but we are just more reasonable than that. What bag are you wait-listed for?

I called my SA in HK today, she was out. I talked with another SA about price increase in Feb.1 , she told me the increase would hit on watch and jewelry . NO BAGS will be effected by this price increase. I hope so. Can any of you confirm it?

I like this answer so this is the one I am sticking with!

I'm a newbie here and am looking to purchase my first Chanel bag. I was looking at the cambon and I absolutely love it! I was wondering when the next price increase will be for those of us that live in the US? Tia!

I dont know if this has been posted, and please excuse me for not bothering to read this entire thread , but in HK, the classic clutch has increased dramatically! I was shocked when I saw the prices. It seems all clutches, irrespective of whether caviar, lambskin and satin are HK$9800 which is about USD1256. They were previously only about HK$8000, and HK$7,000 for the satin I think....

I def agree with intlset's comment above!! It is sucha shame n my head is spinning too. I'm on the waitlist n I hope it comes in before the price hike!

How many times a year does chanel have price increases? i'm new to chanel and hope to be purchasing the 1st half of the year.

I think one reason Chanel does price increases is that each time they do, the month before their sales hit the roof because of us. We all scramble to buy the bags we want (that we may or may NOT have bought) the months before to beat the increase and they make more sales that way. Its a mind- of sorts. Either way, I am part of the rush everytime...:shame:

I was at Neimans today and I asked one of the Chanel SAs if he knew if the increase was happening. He told me had heard rumors, so he called the Chanel boutique yesterday and was told that they didn't think so, and that if it did, it would only be on select classic ones. Hopefully this is true.

my hubby just got the classic flap for me from the chanel boutique in beverly hills.. he asked the SA abt the increase in price and they told him its true.. the price for the medium classic flap will be about 3k after the feb increase.. wow! lucky i got it today...

can someone please verify this?? this is crazy! i got mine BEFORE the last increase.. what will be affected?? i just began my cchanel addiction~!!! and iw ant more.. this is so crazy~!!!
