Did the boy bags go up in hk or anywhere in asia as welll?

Good thing i just bought my classic flap when i went to Vegas. I thought about waiting until next year until I go to Hong Kong but didn't want to risk the price increase! and Vegas was already a bit cheaper than Canada. Now i want a boy :(

I heard the lambskin is not that fragile if taken care of properly and that Chanel (at least at some point) made bags that were high quality and aged well. Next price increase may take it to $5500 or something which is still maybe tolerable for someone who is willing to pay 5k but I'm looking at Gucci and YSL and now they seem like maybe more 'worth' if they're going to last longer / as long and cost 1/3 or less as much. If Chanel classic flap was the quality / price it was a decade or two ago it wouldn't even be a question. Now thanks for letting me rant haha

I tentatively bought a Reissue- Yet, I've stopped by two of the Gucci boutiques near me (there are four- two a mile away from my home... yikes), and I really like the price point and ease of the Marmont bags. I'm going to decide tomorrow if the Reissue I've been staring at on my sofa for the past few days, goes back to the boutique and I pick up a Marmont.
I'm torn.:frown:
I don't know why I'm sold on Chanel. Why, oh why, oh why?:panic:

I vote reissue. With price increases, it's probably worth getting on now. The Gucci marmont is still a fairly reasonable price point but in the end best to go with the one 'that makes your heart sing'. Best wishes.

I was attracted to the marmont flap bag too...but when I saw it in real life, I couldn't get away fast enough. It looked terrible. The sides were caving in, the leather dull and wrinkled. It didn't have the look of an expensive designer bag. Sad but true. I'd go Chanel anytime.

I think my main problem is sticker shock. I've paid upwards of $6K for a couple of bags- each time barely using and selling them (as pristine as possible). The Reissue, if kept, I plan to use and pass to my daughter. I've come to that point in life where I don't care about resale value, I care about lovin' and using the (very few) bags I have decided to keep.
After reading your post, I think I like the Marmot price more than I actually like the bag. To be honest, it wasn't the quality I'm accustomed to owning, but it's also 1/2-1/3 the price I sometimes spend. Please don't get me wrong, it's a great bag line. I guess the bags I've chosen in the past are a bit more structured, have more "weight" and have a potential to last longer- thus, a reason for the price difference.
Let's see what kind of clarity morning will bring. I have a feeling I'm going to choose to keep the Reissue and limit my Chanel bag purchases to one ( :love: ) a year.

You're welcome! Guess what? If I were you, even if I don't keep the reissue? I wouldn't get the marmont either. Yeah...it's that bad.

Stopped by the downtown Gucci today. Still didn't buy one. Did the brass colored "GG" bother you at all?
I think that's what's stopping me- I keep thinking Covergirl.
As I stated before, Chanel's price increases may just mean cutting down on the number bags and making perfectly sure of my wants and needs.
