Hi. I was not charged duty tax. The Rue Cambon store seemed to be well stocked. I went in to purchase a jumbo, so I didn't look at any other sizes. If you are unable to find the specific bag you want there, I am sure you can locate it in Paris, as there are several other stores.

Just wondering about the duty tax- did they not stop you after you filled out the form declaring your purchase? They hardly seem to look at it... But some people have noted a 9% duty when they declare. Debating whether to buy chanel abroad or not...

They didn't pay too much attention to what we declared, and were not charged duty tax. It is still significantly less expensive to purchase from Chanel in Paris even if a duty tax was to be charged.

I was in Paris last week and purchased a jumbo flap at the Rue Cambon store. The bag cost 3950 euro, which came out to 4400 US dollars. The exchange rate is great right now, so I lucked out. I also will receive my VAT refund back . Once that hits, my bag will end up costing me between 3800-3900 US dollars. That's amazing considering it costs $5500 here is the US.

Even if charged duty tax, it's still much cheaper to buy in Paris.

Based on Internet sources it's 3550 euro. I think that's before tax refund as well. Ugh I wish I could buy it in Europe! Asia duty prices are the same as US prices.

I was waiting for months on a waitlist at my local Nordstrom store for a medium classic flap and started to get nervous about the price increase coming soon. I decided to call around to see if any chanel boutiques or other depts have it in stock. Low and behold, no waiting list. got one my first call. Crazy!
