Chanel Price Increase *please include location*

Well, in reality, before the HUGE increases started (about a year and a half ago) the Jumbo and the medium flap were only $100 difference. (Jumbo was $1695 and the med/large was $1595).

I unfortunately remember that and it kills me.

the chanel boutique SA stated today that there is no price increase in canada, and that there will be in the US because they need to equalize their prices with the higher canadian prices.
According to this forum though, there is no significant difference in price between USA and Canada.
Soooo,...it makes me think she was flat out lying to my face. But I wouldve thought she would tell me about a price increase to pressure me into buying now before it got more expensive- but she didn't!

Aren't the CAN $ and US $ pretty much the same now? If you posted that a caviar jumbo was $2575 in Canada and jumbo is $2650 in America, wouldn't that mean the U.S. bags are already more expensive?? Generally I don't find salespeople in higher end shops to be pushy, the SA at the Chanel boutique I was at yesterday mentioned a price increase soon but she did not pressure me into buying anything.

I just saw my SA on Saturday and she did say an increase was coming sometime in October or November (sorry I forgot which, I'll confirm again). I'm in Canada as well ... I do trust my SA since she's been with Chanel a long time. While I was there, she even mentioned it to another SA to inform his special clients of the increase.

Do we have any idea what the price of the GST will be? I personally hate the idea of rushing a purchase so if it is under a certain amount, I'd wait until I am good and ready. I thought I'd heard $2450??

^I heard it will be $2495 for the caviar GSTs. Don't quote me on that though... but unfortunately, it sounds about right to me.

was just in chanel on 57th street today buying a reissue 2.55 and the salesman working with the lady next to me said the next price increase hits chanel worldwide on november 1, 2008...

Fairly decent size if cruise bags are anything to go on. Jumbo is currently $2650 for caviar and will be $2995. GST is rumored to be going to $2450. Those are just rumors but at least it is something.

I talked to a Chanel SA and she said the price increase will be 20%.

My SA told me the same yesterday
