Thanks! I wasn’t looking for anything specific, I was just curious as my SA from that store had said a few weeks ago that stock was terrible and that they had ended up sending a lot of stock to Asia and had nothing really left on the floor!

I didn't really look at other bags, although some ladies next to me were trying on the tiny bags in like a lucite material, probably could only fit a lipstick and a phone. They looked very cute for christmas. I dont think there were many CFs.

I ended up buying a 2.55 in small, an illuminescent grey in gold hardware, stock from 2 years ago. I had been waiting for more than 10 years to buy one, and when I finally decided I would in 2019, it was £4300! I think I definitely fell for FOMO before the price increase. I am well and truly priced out now, I will just sit quietly and watch from the sidelines from now on

Hi everyone

Complete Chanel novice here (always been more of a Gucci girl) but I hope someone can enlighten me. I’m looking to buy a black mini flap or mini square in caviar with SHW. I’ve read loads of the threads and am still at a loss as to where and how I buy one! I’m in the UK but not London. Can someone please explain why they seem to be so difficult to buy? Would I be better off buying pre-loved? Apologies if this has been discussed/explained before and thank you!

Hello! Chanel discontinued caviar mini flaps a few years ago. They only produce lambskin ones now, so you would have to buy preloved. Unfortunately even on the preloved market they don’t come up very often

Ah thank you so much - OK that makes that point easier to understand. Do they still make the mini square in caviar do you know? And where do I find reputable pre-loved sellers/sites? Thanks for taking the time to reply

It’s the same for the square mini too - they stopped doing caviar at the same time and only produce in lambskin now.
In terms of reputable pre-loved stores in the UK, Sellier Knightsbridge and Luxury Promise seem to be well regarded but I’ve not personally had any experience buying from them. Good luck with your search!

Hi everyone,

I've just recently purchased my first Chanel CF Black in lambskin and SHW, I'm trying to exchange it for the caviar and GHW so I've been calling up the London boutiques but they're all out of stock and don't know when the next batch will be in. Does anyone know how often the caviar CF gets replenished? Or should I just start using my lambskin? (I don't want to keep waiting to a point where the bag is just sitting in the closet :sad:

Hi, I saw your post on the other thread. It’s hard to say as there used to be caviar flaps when I used to go to the store - they used to be more readily available - but there is chatter on the Price Increase thread that they’re trying to limit stock of black/ beige classic flaps and 2.55 so perhaps this is why it’s getting harder to find them in stock?

Have any of the SAs said that they can call you back once it’s in stock? Have you tried asking them the question?

I don’t know whether classic flaps, or more broadly, but I have been told that there isn’t very much stock at all at the moment until the new collection comes in, which will be on the 12th November.

You could wait a week and see if caviar stock comes in with the shipment of new collection before you decide whether to keep your lambskin.

Stock of the black classics is at an all time low at the moment. I was in NBS beginning of October and I heard them tell someone that they had absolutely no black classic flaps at all. Whether it’s because of delays or reducing production I’m not sure but it’s very hard to predict what might happen now. In the past it used to be so straight forward in London - when I bought my black jumbo 6 years ago I went in store one evening and although they were out of stock they told me to just call in the morning and they could hold it for the day, so I did that on a day I could go back. Even last summer, I was able to look at medium black and beige CF in *all* leather and hardware combinations at the same time! Now it seems to be as difficult as the US to get a CF. I think you can only do as you are already and keep calling the stores if you are set on exchanging
