- Chanel at Shinjuku Takashimaya had good service, no queue and the shop is spacious. Quite a lot of stock for SLGs and shoes, no popular bags e.g. mini 22 (am I stating the obvious? Lol) for sale to tourists but bags from previous collections avail. e.g. the heart-shaped version of pearl crush from 22K (?) I bought a 23S WOC.
- Chanel at Shinjuku Odakyu had NO customers in the store on a Fri evening, saw some top handle minis + white mini bucket bag on display. I didn't enter the store to ask if the display bags were allowed for sale.

Conclusion: despite the 1.55% commission that department stores will take from your tax refund, I think us tourists are much better off visiting the Chanel boutiques located inside Japanese department stores, instead of the stand-alone boutiques at Ginza and Omotesando.

my hub in Tokyo rite now and he said will visit Chanel at Ginza, will ask him to go dept store if he did not manage to find C19 there :)

It would save you time if you take an appointment before going but you can walk-in and take a queue number to wait. Usually the waiting time on weekday mornings is not longer than 20-30 mts but weekends it could be around a couple of hours.

You don't need a purchase history to buy a bag but SA's do have their favourite clients and they don't show all the bags to everyone walking-into the store. If you're after a particular bag it's best to visit both boutiques and let an SA in each store know what you want. Keep their contact numbers and stay in touch with them about your wishlist......my SA's in both Taka and MBS have been very kind and let me know when they've received something I wanted (I'm not a VVIP or frequent customer!!).

Just got this today! Have been looking for a caviar woc. I missed the black one few weeks back (as I was deciding whether to get it was gone!), and thought my chance was gone. Didn't expect that there would be new stock coming in mid way through the season :)

I haven't been using my old medium boy in a while with two young kids around. I heard that wocs are quite useful/carefree for moms, so hope I get more use out of this!

congrats! May I ask which boutique you got it from? I saw the black one at the start of the season but thought burgundy would be more special. It’s beautiful!
