This is normal due to friction. I would say don’t sweat the little details or inspect too closely after each wear otherwise you will have a hard time enjoying the bag! I even cut off stray fraying myself cos unless the tread has came off with stitches missing, there’s nothing Chanel can do for you either (unless you want to rethread the whole thing…)

You must have super human vision to see that! I think it’s perfectly normal due to the stitching being cotton, if you’re inspecting the item so close like that perhaps it’s time to put down the magnifying glass and just enjoy using your item!

Hahaha, actually this is a photo by the seller! I’m contemplating getting this preloved but am worried about this “flaw” / wear and tear that was pointed out, hence asking for advice first!

So I’m hearing that this is ok and nothing to worry about?

I would like to check does anyone experience these black spots on the Gabrielles with this kind of materials? I seldom use them and it's been in my wardrobe covered. When I open up recently, I saw these black spots? Does it count as wear and tear or I could send in? The handle and zip do not have these though.

I face the same issue with my Gabrielle backpack. Was told I’d need to pay for the repair because it’s wear and tear. But that’s at the bottom I didn’t think I even come in contact with it? Estimated cost was $360++ mid this year fyi. Carried maybe 10x? Didn’t expect this from an “expensive bag” that was supposed to be good quality ☹️View attachment 5671809

Omg I can’t agree better, expensive bag doesn’t mean that it’s invincible and wouldn’t spoil. Bags are meant to be used and be carried. and will have reasonable wear and tear , fraying happens all the time, such as from friction to clothes etc. luxury goods are meant to be used and enjoyed. Not to be inspected and nitpick.

I don’t own a Gabrielle but the back spots look like they could be mold. Would suggest you bring it in for examination and advice asap. The bags need to be aired every couple of months if not used regularly to prevent mold from growing in our humid climate.

Similar thing happen to my other non Chanel metallic bag, had to send to redye the leather to dark Color so those spots could be covered.

Hi all! Out of curiosity, has anyone received the year end gift from Chanel? I received the bracelet and bag (with flowers and the box of 3 camellias) but strangely no snow globe. So far the people I know who received the year end gift all got snow globe so I’m just wondering if I’m the only one? Cos it’s weird that they are willing to give a SLG (fabric but that category haha) and a bracelet but skip on the snow globe (which I was looking forward to the most!)

I did not receive the globe too (same like you, looking forward to that the most!). Am thinking if that globe are for those who also purchased cosmetic/high-fine jewelry frequently? Just guessing..

Ahh I see! Cos I got the globe last year but then again my spending last year was at least double of this year, pleasantly surprised and grateful to even receive anything this year. Good to know, thank you so much! Funny they are more generous with the bag and bracelet than the globe and I don’t think you need to buy fine jewelry cos I didn’t last year either. Beauty has their own spending to reach in order to hit the snow globe (heard it’s 6k this year, while the little fabric bag is 10k - again not too sure cos I don’t shop Chanel beauty, heard it through the grapevine)

This year’s is much better than last year. It was a brooch last year for everyone (along with snow globe and candle holder) when my spending was double that of this year. Looks like they’re really upping the gifts haha. Even my birthday gift was better this year compared to last too.
