Chanel hardware replacement?

Do you have news on that? I’m 100% sure they will replace if you bring it to the boutique. I brought in my reissue so black because the black clasp had some fading or tarnish (I don’t know). It looked odd so I asked them for replacement. The bag was from 2016 and they charged 95€ - my bag is still in Paris for repair...
It's not FREE for 5 years, it's Chanel will do the replacement. A few years ago Chanel put into place all these rules (in the US) about what they would/wouldn't service. Hardware was like the 1 thing they'll still do, within 5 years. In the US, unless you need to deal with Chanel incase of defect etc, it's best to get a quote from Leather Surgeons. There the ones who Chanel used to outsource all the repairs to that didn't need to sent back to Paris anyway. they used to not take individual clients because of this, but now they do. Chanel basically decided to save themselves time and cut out themselves as the middleman.
Not sure about free... but not too expensive either.

No problem. I specifically asked about this and it depends on the job. Mine went to London so stayed in my country. They can do most repairs in country but its only if its something particular they send it to Paris. Even my J12 watch stayed in country I think. But they keep you posted and give you a quote of around 4-6 weeks to cover themselves. I was surprised mine came back so quickly. I obviously picked a quiet time I don't know. Mine was a patent goatskin and the repairs here and there to the popped stitches were enough for me. I didn't really want to mess about with it too much but got the quote for a replacement chain. I think the replacement hardware varies depending on he bag. I suspect it will stay in your country and they tell you longer to cover themselves. There's a new procedure now where the book it in so you get an email as soon as you drop it off and you can check on the progress with the link in the email but mine came back much sooner than expected so it was a pleasant surprise.
Also just drop the bag off no box or dust bag as they give you new everything which was great as mine was a bag pre magnetic boxes and white dust bags so I was delighted and the repair was free even though I purchased the bag in 2009.
Wow, that’s so long. Could the delay be due to COVID? They might have a backlog to fix bag issues. My turn lock was chipped recently and I’m debating to bring it back to Chanel to get it replaced. I guess I should expect at least 8 weeks at this point...Mine is in Paris for 8 weeks now to change CC Lock on my So Black Coco.
Yes, they did. But promised me in advance that it would take 4-6 weeks because they wanted to send it as a high priority.

Just got a message from my SA today, that Paris will ship my bag back to Berlin store by the end of this week
