Hi everyone! I need some advice here, I recently got the iridescent medium classic flap in aged calfskin, the colour is beautiful! However I am now debating if I should exchange it due to the nature of the leather. As it is aged, it will get crease with usage in the future, I can already see creases where it bends on the spine when opened and am just now sure if it will last a long time (at this price point I expect it to). Now I’m pondering if I should exchange it for a caviar one instead, am fine with the classic black and gold hardware as I don’t have that one yet.

For those of you who have this season’s aged calfskin bags, can you please share about the wear and tear please? Do the creases bother you? Do you think it’ll hold up well in the long run? Should I make the exchange? Hope to hear your views, thanks all!

@jimmyshoogirl - the black 19 isn’t as shiny as it was last year. When I first purchased it early 2020, it was glossy! But in person, I definitely can see and feel the difference between the two. In addition to sight and touch, I’ve noticed they smell different haha. I am probably the only one, but I love smelling the new leather on my store fresh handbags. Sniffing my black goatskin, I noticed that it smells like the shiny caviar flap I have from 21A…I think it’s the smell of the leather polish? The brown 19 bag doesn’t have the same exact smell…but it still smells like leather. Hope that makes sense! Anyways- if you do decide to get a black goatskin one, please post pictures so we can celebrate your haul with you! Congrats on your brown 19 acquisition!:heart:

If it bothers you now, it will absolutely bother you later. Sounds to me a black caviar with ghw, something you can use frequently and holds up beautifully, is more of what you are desiring. I love this seasons calfskin, but you need to go with your instinct. Loving the color only takes you so far… you need to love the bag in its entirety.

I don’t know. I do know there was one goatskin, not lambskin, left at my NM a couple of months ago when I was able to try it on. At the time I didn’t realize they didn’t have black in goatskin anymore or I would’ve gotten it. Maybe call CS and ask if there are some still floating around? The particular NM that I go to notoriously have older seasons, as they also had bags from 2019 at the time. :doh:

I fit 4 in mine (2 in the back pocket, 2 in the inner pocket). I put my most used 2 cards in the back pocket so it's easy to grab.

I don't care how much something cost, use will show wear and tear. It's normal and to be expected. A black CF will show wear over time as well.

Nonetheless, if you are unsure, return it. However, I am not sure you'd be happy with a black caviar either in the long run.

I recently purchased both the white and the blue iridescent coco handle from the 21k collection, but noticed the white one has a different width. It looks a bit smaller and slimmer. The leather is also much softer than all my coco handles. Did anyone also bought an iridescent coco handle and a solid color one from 21k that they can compare side by side? I’m not sure if it’s just the solid ones that seem to be slimmer and also have a softer leather or if it’s just my piece. Thank you in advance!
