Hi everyone! I went into Neiman Marcus today to look at the espadrilles and saw that they had a pair of the canvas ones! i was so excited because I know they are hard to find but they only had a pair that was about two sizes bigger than my normal size. They surprisingly fit, but are definitely big. I can walk fine without them slipping off my feet, but I was wondering if any experienced owners can tell me if it was a bad decision to buy the pair? They are definitely a little big, but I really prefer this style.

I didn't want to miss out on having the style and I'm planning on searching for my true size before I wear these. Anyone have any luck hunting these down at Neiman Marcus?

I would keep. I am normally an 38-38.5 and bought both canvas and leather espadrilles in a 39 and they fit like a glove. Canvas doesn’t stretch so you should be fine! If they feel too big, you can always get an insert...the only problem I see is if they have a gap on the side and you don’t like that look.

Hi ladies! I just bought these and noticed at home that one shoe has a gap between the sole and the leather top part, also holes from pricker in that area look bigger than the rest ones. Is this normal or is it better to return them? TIA

When I got my first pair of espadrilles I bought them a size up, and they stretched out after a year or so. I had to re sell them because I walked right out of them!

Was wondering anyone tried on the open back espy? I saw them in my local boutique but never gave them a second thought. But saw a YouTuber commenting how she loves hers. Was wondering what is the genera opinion here!

Its normal; its just because of the sizing of the thread and on leather it can stretch slightly when they tug it to tighten. Plus they are designed to be a casual shoe not like an elegant ballet flat where you would not expect anything of the sort. I have owned many Espadrilles and even my current pair has similar types of gaps. Its of no concern.

Debating on getting a pair of the suede ones with pearls. I stay away from suede because my feet sweat and I don't want to get them dirty lol. But I love the pearls. I'm thinking between the beige/black or teal/black. Is it easy maintaining them?

Hi Ldragon,

I just purchased a pair of full black leather espadrilles and noticed the exact thing. I would like to know also if it's a fault. I checked my other pair which are the original single sole and it doesn't have any gaps. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

I am on my fourth pair of canvas espadrilles! They are so comfy. I wear a 9-9.5 but always wear a 40 in these and they have always been tight to start. Mine all stretched after wearing 4-5 times. I just got the all black canvas (my others were all beige/black canvas) and they were not tight at first. And I tried on three different pairs brand new, never tried on. All looser. I haven't worn them yet but was a little concerned they would get too big. But they are so fabulous and hard to find. As far as I know only boutiques carried the all black.IMG_1512139851.856928.jpg

Thanks for your reply! I decided to keep them

Hi all,

I'm going to be buying my partner a pair of espadrilles ( the suede calfskin with imitation pearls in beige and black) as a surprise but as you all know finding anywhere with stock in the correct size is a nightmare. My question has been covered before I'm sure but I would really love your opinion on whether or not it would be a mistake to buy a size down in this particular shoe? Her usual size would be 37 but at this point I can only get a 36. I read somewhere that suede calfskin would stretch and it would be best to go a size down but I'm just not sure. She doesn't normally struggle fitting into most brands so I guess she her feet must be fairly regular shaped (not wide etc).

Any advice would be appreciated!

That's so sweet of you! I don't have this pearl pair but for other espadrilles I'm usually a US size 8 and take size 38 in Chanel espadrilles but 38.5 in other Chanel shoes. Espadrilles stretch a lot so they'll feel tight initially and mold to your feet after a couple of wears. A safe bet would be to get it from a local boutique and if the size doesn't work out she can exchange them!

Don't size down. It's already too tight for the sizing.
