Just call a boutique and see if they will ship to you. Or if you have a friend or relative in the US, see if they will ship it to them, as you will save the tax and duties. Better yet, if they live in a different state than the Chanel boutique you are buying from, there is no tax at all. I do it all the time.
they have to live in a state that does not have a boutique for no tax, not just a different state from the boutique they are buying from. same goes with department stores. ie: i live in ohio where they are no boutiques or neiman marcus so if i buy from any locations of either of those and have it shipped to my house i don't pay tax.

I haven't been charged tax when I ship to my sister's in Cali, but I have heard the same thing that you mentioned too.

This is so helpful. Seems like everybody in Canada is sold out. And a couple of SAs said that they won't be getting anymore.
So again, thank you so much! I'll be calling a lot of NMs and Barneys.
If you have any SAs you'd recommend, please PM me the info.

P.S. I'm a 37. I'm thinking of ordering a 38 in all black leather. What do you guys think?

All black leather double sole is TTS so you'll need a 37.

then they are not charging you tax illegally (intentionally or not). assuming you are referring to a boutique doing this and not bergdorf goodman (which has no presence in cali).

After endless store-hopping.. I was able to find two pairs in size 40, all black leather and gray/black!! But now after reading these horror stories with the shoes coming apart is making me want to return both :(

Doesn't seem like they're lasting past 6 months? That's $100/month wear :-s:confused1::oh:

(BTW, Chanel boutique in SCP has plenty of the gray/black and cream/black leather as of today.)
