I heard the status is held for 1 year, but not 100% sure. Also I am not sure if department stores such as saks or NM count, but I feel like it does because I do most of my shopping at department stores. Don’t know how much you have to spend to be in certain levels either :/.

My last several purchases have been thru NM so the spend (or whatever they use) has to count. Before a couple days ago the last thing I purchased was in boutique was a caramel 19 from 21k.

Honestly, I’m leaning towards maybe the SA’s have “slots” available that they can give certain clients to reserve based off of the relationship. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason why. Well at least it doesn’t appear that way. I’ve recently purchased a swimsuit and skirt that I saw for 22p so I’m buying across the board now, I guess?

This collection/selling environment is kind of zapping the fun out of purchasing...
Shopping for Chanel just feels less and less luxurious...*sigh*
I’m really upset with Chanel! honestly there are other brands with the same quality, better customer service, and they actually try to get you the item… there are pieces that I really do want, but I don’t think it’s worth the crazy rat race plus paying thousands and thousands more than what I would have paid 12 months ago. Ridiculous- I hope they ruin themselves
I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments. A luxury buying experience should be enjoyable and hassle free. And, I simply will not participate in any shenanigans to get a bag whether it be standing in line all day or begging an SA to let me buy one or spending one more penny on things I don’t want to qualify.

One of the tragedies of being indigent is having to stand in lines, beg for items, stress about access and take whatever is given to you. It shouldn’t be that way because we should treat people with more dignity. But, it still remains that this condition persists.

So, someone needs to explain to me why I would ever tolerate those conditions for a purely optional luxury item. 90% of us have a bag we desperately wanted in our closet that we barely use. That says the “fever” for a specific bag passes. So, I’m only going to buy what and when the entirety of the experience is luxurious (or at least neutrally and efficiently transactional) for me. Hopefully Chanel can reach an equilibrium where they achieve their profit and exclusivity goals while offering a positive and sane buying experience.

This thread is interesting as I have history at stand alone boutiques. Today, I texted my SA about getting on the list for the rainboots. She responded back "will ask manager" which I thought was strange because she never responded that way before. So I replied no pressure, I will survive without them. Few minutes later she texted back the manager will order them for me.

How much are they?

Hey does anyone know what the difference is between something being on reserve for you vs being on the waitlist? I mean I can kind of infer but just if someone has a more concrete explanation of the difference that would be appreciated!

In my experience, when I’ve reserved I get the bag and can usually put a deposit which is definite (department stores only) whereas waitlist it’s not guaranteed. Although if I’m in the top 3 on a waitlist I’m usually told (at standalones) I’m guaranteed but waitlists u can be any number especially with department stores who do lotteries

Here is a message I received Thursday from my Nordy SA

SA: Hi Brittney! Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. For bags starting in 22a we will no longer be doing reserves, Shoes will still be able to preorder though!

Me: How will I purchase then, remember I'm remote only?

SA: First come in the stores so I'm recommending everyone come in on launch date or check back for new shipment info.

Me: So you cant ship anything? Going to the store is not an option. Is this Nordstrom's new policy?

SA: Chanel policy. We can only ship after something has been available for 2 weeks in store. Sorry to deliver this news hopefully something good will still be available for you.

How bad would it be if I don’t like the item I reserved when actually seeing it then decline it? Don’t want to waste my SA’s effort but sometimes my mind shifts after months… I’m so torn. Would appreciate any advice!
I was on reserve for a 22s deauville that I recently declined. I simply told my sa that I didn’t want it. She said ok! I don’t think she minds because someone else will buy it, it’s just on reserve I had first dibs!

I think my sa told me recently that I can still reserve, I just need to pay in advance. I only order really weird non-leather bags that not many people want so maybe that is why :yucky:

My SA hasn’t said anything to me about no reserves. She has my wishlist so I guess I’ll wait to see if she contacts me for the 22A bag I asked to reserve. I’m good either way honestly. I’ll either keep marking things off my list or I’ll be forced into purse peace lol  I won’t line up on launch day. Ain’t nobody got time for that and I won’t pay thousands over retail from a reseller.

Since I always place a phone order with my SA, will I be able to find out my status without asking my SA?
