Hmm, I got a second email this morning, a week after my last complaint to Otticanet. I had been planning on emailing them again on Oct 16 but maybe they beat me to it. Here is the reply if anyone is interested:

I inform you that we solicited your glasses by the manufacturer and we tried to speed up your order, but they told us that your glasses will be available in 10/15 working days.As soon as we receive them by the supplier, we will immediatly proceed your shipment. Please consider 2/3 working days to deliver them to Canada.

I inform you that when you placed the order the payment was only blocked but your credit card was not charged.

We usually charge the credit card when we ship the glasses, but in this case it is taking a lot to get the glasses and after 25 days from the day of the order the payments automatically cancel.

For this reason we had to take your money now, not to loose your payment.

However, we will able to refund you anytime,in case you change your mind.

Please feel free to contact us for any further information.

Thank you once more.

Kind regards,
Otticanet

Ugh, if we are counting 10-15 business days after i received this new email, that means i have to wait until Oct 31 and after  Also, so apparently that's the reason for charging our cards early so they don't loose our payment. I really, really want these glasses though, because i have no other access to them

Same here!!! I am at the end of my tether!!! In my opinion it`s really rude to charging our credit cards and it`s obvious that they don`t know when they will receive them!

You're so lucky!!!!! :jrs: What did you tell them in your last email to them? LOL.

Ah man, just when I got an email last Friday, October 5 telling me that I had to wait another 10-15 business days. It will be Halloween when I go harass them again!

Enjoy your brand new Celine sunnies! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Yesterday I got my Celine New Audreys (after two months of waiting)! I was excited because I had thoughts about the authenticity.
Attached you see some pictures of how my glasses arrived. IMO they look used! There are several marks and small scratches! And the glasses (you can see clearly on the picture) look like they were cleaned wet, because the glasses are really streaky!
And what about the authenticity? There were no authenticitycards in the box!
Ah, and the case: I do not think that the case is real suede!!!

What do you say?
Thanks!

From what I know the ones from Safilo don't come with an authenticity card.

I do see some scratches and you should email Otticanet about it being used. As for the authenticity card, a few posts back gabbiie said:

"I did have a little problem though when I ordered the Baroques, they arrived without the authenticity card and I had to email them. The lady was nice and told me that the company had sent them without the authenticity card and said that they would mail me the card but instead mailed me the instructions on how to care for the sunglasses. I emailed her again explaining that what I had gotten was not the authenticity card I was talking about and how they should inspect the sunglasses they get to make sure they come with everything they are supposed to. I even scanned the authenticity card of my other Baroques so she would know exactly what I was talking about. She then she said that the card had gotten lost and that they would look for it and to email her back if I wanted it if and when they found it. So, I emailed her back saying “of course I want the card” and a week or two later it came in the mail."

Maybe you can ask for a card as well?

I received my FedEx shipping notice from Otticanet today and I should get my black classic Audreys at the end of this week. I'm crossing my fingers that nothing is wrong with them :wondering

I ordered from Otticanet about six weeks ago and have been given the run around like you other ladies here.

They finally also emailed me yesterday to say my order is now with Fedex. I was very close to cancelling my order but will now wait for it to arrive.

I did say to them that I thought it was disgusting customer service for them to advertise a product on their website and lead customers to believe that it was readily available, only to be made to wait and wait for it. Six weeks for an order that is NOT bespoke is just ridiculous!

I took the plunge in ordering from Otticanet but have had an okay experience with them so far, I also received an email confirming the order is with FedEx this morning and I placed my order on the 16th. Oh for reference I ordered the classic Audreys in black :) I am usually a lurker of this forum hence my zero poster status but thought it would be worth mentioning a different experience with Otticanet (so far, fingers crossed haha).

I`m crossing my fingers that everything is ok with your shades!
I emailed them 4 times, about the used glasses, but everytime they say, they are selling brandnew, original glasses only. Don`t know what to do. It`s not ok to sell glasses which have a few scratches.

"Dear Nina

Thanks for your email.

I confirm once again that WE ONLY SELL NEW GENUINE GLASSES: WE NEVER SELL USED GLASSES.

Your glasses are not used: we received them directly from the manufacturer. Since the colour is shiny, they may have scratches easily.

Please feel free to contact us for any further information.

Tell us about your glasses at the end of the week, I am excited!

I just received my black Audreys from Otticanet today, and they arrived 3 days earlier than expected!

They are quite loose on my face, so I will have to get them tightened, I think.

They came in the black Celine zippered pouch, but no Celine papers. They also came with an Otticanet dust cloth, not a Celine one.

They look absolutely pristine, brand new, no scratches or anything.

I LOVE THEM! Very happy with my purchase, despite the long, agonising wait from Otticanet.

After 25 business days (about 5 weeks), I finally received my black classic Audreys from Otticanet. They look new and pristine, and came with a black Celine pouch, Celine cloth, Otticanet cloth and an information paper from Safilo. I'm pretty sure of the authenticity since I've compared it to what I've seen on PF so far, even though it didn't come with an authenticity card. The Audreys are a little loose around my head so I'll probably end up getting them tightened a bit.

In the end I got my glasses but it wasn't a very good shopping experience. The wait was long and after some 3-5 emails asking for updates, I was convinced that Otticanet themselves didn't even know when they were going to get the glasses from the manufacturer. Also, my card was charged way before they even notified me that they were going to ship it. The shipping took about 5 days and I had to pay around $45 CAD in duties and taxes.

I've seen the lucky few people get their purchases immediately, but for someone thinking of buying from Otticanet, remember that it's a total crap shoot.
