I believe what you're saying - but this part sounds so strange to me. What high end couture house produces an item only to have it sold through a 3rd party site?
hey beaux,
i work in the fashion industry for a prominent brand based in NYC (TPF has a sub-forum for this brand) that has distribution throughout the world in EU / US / ASIA, so allow me to share my insight

.
many times, an item is offered in multiple colors, and not always the retail owned stores would choose to offer ALL available colors. a lot of times, wholesale accounts (NM /
Nordies / Bergdorf / e-commerce ) may end up choosing a different assortment that they may decide suit their customers better. For my company, this year we offer an exclusive color for an existing shoe style for Asia only through the wholesale channel --> Lane Crawford HK, Isetan Japan, Lotte Korea, etc. and not offered at all at retail owned stores. This is a very common practice, and does not warrant that this shoe in that particular color be a fake or anything.
In this case for the sunglasses, there are 2 types of tort, and perhaps Japan / HK / Singapore, etc may have picked up both tort patterns and split these between stores (so some would carry the 1st Tort, some would carry the 2nd Tort), therefore in the states side, not many people have seen this.
now, i'm not vouching for voguest in any way, but i just simply want to put it out there that this is a common retail practice to offer certain colors through retail and certain colors through wholesale channels. Voguest in this case is a wholesale e-commerce account that purchases sunglasses through De Rigo and Safilo, both are licensing companies that sell to mass retailers like Sunglass Hut / Lens Crafters, etc. These wholesale accounts do not contact Celine directly to purchase eyewear. (see my previous thread/post about Celine not producing sunglasses in house).
