I got some pics from my SA, I love the hardware and all the new colors!! What do you guys think of it?

From the screen, I like the color alright, but the rubber stud?!?!? This, I have to see it IRL. One thing funny is the name of the color. Bal released a color called "Blue Layette" once in s/s 09 and it's a gorgeous baby blue. I love it, but sadly didn't get it coz I didn't have enough fund at the time. It's a perfect baby blue. I wonder why they choose to repeat the name again with a different color this time.

^^ *Vink* .. you are absolutely spot-on; Balenciaga did indeed do a Bleu Layette a few years back and it was a "baby" blue color. Now, that being said .. Balenciaga has always been NOTORIOUSLY bad about their pictures and the "accuracy" (NOT) of the colors shown. So, I certainly wouldn't base the "true" color .. until I see it IRL!

My SA just sent pics of the holiday collection bags. She said there is no City or Velo. She sent pics of the mini pompon and mini bowler. I'm really not sure about the rubber studs - like Ceejay said, I need to see them in person. Here is the mini bowler next to a city.

I saw the rubber studs today. Not a fan. They don't feel rubbery, just look like RH, painted over.
I used to avoid passing the Bal concession in Selfridges, because I'd want so much. Now I avoid it because it's just so *meh*. I still love the oldies but everything else has lost it's sparkle for me.

LOL Clever I'm right there with you! I used to enjoy oggling all the bags but want to avoid them so I'm not tempted to buy, now they don't even faze me anymore. I can't not look at them but now it's not because I'm so excited to see them but more in a "I gotta see how bad they are" freak show sort of way. I hate to say it but I'm pretty over bal, unless they come out with some amazing colors and better quality leather next year they won't be seeing another cent from me. I've also dabbled in other brands the past few years, and have been cutting back to keep my collection in check.

Though I'd share these pics of the holiday line that a SA sent too me. I am really disapointed I've loved the past few holiday collections but not this one. The colors are disappointing and I don't like the hardware either. The colors are Black, Gris, Bleu Layette, Rouge and Rose Poudre.

*CC* .. I totally hear 'ya, same here! Now, I find myself doing a "lookie-loo" and that's about it. Gone are the days where I would buy 3-4 bags PER SEASON!! :sweatdrop: :blushing:

So, they are "painted over"??? .. NOT GOOD!! So, if the paint wears off (which we all know the studs do take the wear & tear), then they are going to look plastic underneath?? .. NO BUENO!!!

IDK that they ARE painted over - but that's how they look. The other thing - the leather. Smooth, bland, no character. I was lucky enough recently to get an 07 Violet chèvre GSH City at a crazy-good price. There is absolutely no comparison between this and the bags I looked at yesterday. In a way, I am glad. Nothing used to give me 'the wants' like a new season Bal. Now I am immune to all but the oldies :-) good news for my bank balance.

YUP .. same here! I did see a gorgey Ultraviolet (fab leather) at the SCP Bal boutique, but I just couldn't take out my wallet and pay that much $$$ for a new bag (I guess I'm still stuck in the old price - remember $1195 for a City .. yeah, I know .. aging myself there !!)

Ha - me too! The last Bal I paid retail for was a Violet RH City, back in 2007, and it cost £725. Things have changed since then.....not for the better.

Yes it's all relative isn't it??? I first started buying LV back in 2008. Bought a NF GM for $700. They r now $1030 - bahahahahaha!!!! Ridiculous!!! And for canvas!!! And I have left LV in the dust.

But I just started buying Bal in the past 6 months - so I have no comparison to $1695 for my GT and Anthra Works.
