Cartiers and J12s

I'm 24. I used to love Chanel J12s but as I get older and read the purse forum more J12s just don't do it for me anymore. I think Cartier is much more classic and will stand the test of time..

24, Cartier.... I went back and forth. I started out liking Cartier a lot because it was what everyone in my family wore and preferred. Then i saw the j12 and was *drool* beacuse it was so much more contemporary. Now that I'm older, back to Cartier

Hmmmmmm...I'm the oldest by a large margin. 58, EEK!
I have an old Cartier Tank, haven't worn it in years. I have gold/diamond Concord, Lt edition Movado with diamonds (nice watch), several diamond Invictas for fun. My favorite is my J12 33mm diamond bezel/white. Never take it off...indestructable!
But my next watch will be a Cartier Roadster...love them!

I'm 29 and I like both. My watch HG's in order are a Cartier Santos, Chanel J12 in black with diamonds, and then a Rolex not sure which one. I feel like the Cartier is a classic watch and are very elegant. I feel like the J12 is a bit more trendy/funky. I just bought a skagen black ceramic watch which I dubbed my fake J12 lol. But the main reason why I like the black J12 so much because I'm pretty fair so a black watch really stands out on me.

29- White 38mm plain J12 over my SS Cartier Santos any day. However, the Cartier is a wedding present which I am sure I will love in the future.

I have had the J12 for over 2 years now and still think it is a watch that can stand the test of time. They came out with the watch in 2000?

If so, I don't think it is a trend anymore

37- 33mm plain white J12 & 33 mm diamond marker rose gold black J12.

Don't own any Cartier yet but have always love Tank Americaine. Planning to buy one this year, that is if I don't get distracted by other things

So, to answer the q, I love both. J12 for less formal occasion, Cartier Tank for the rest.

I know this is very old thread! But some people are still on forum. And I wonder if opinions are the same. Thinking of possibly giving up one of my j12s. I have the 38mm plain white automatic and the 33 mm quartz in black with diamond markers. What are your thoughts - now - 4 years later from when this thread began?!

I have on my 38mm white automatic with diamond bezel today and I love it just as much today as I did when I bought it 5 years ago. I've never owned a Cartier, but I do have a Rolex and I wear it a lot as well as various MK watches. I'm 61.

Which of the two would you part with? I love watches and have no problem adding to my current collection even though I know it's silly. So you won't hear me tell you that you should give one up!

I've always loved the J12 and just recently acquired the chromatic Quartz 33 diamond bezel and index. Yet I still find myself needing another Rolex. I also have 2 Cartiers, a Movado and some fun trendy watches. I have a rolex from 10 years ago which I love today as much as when I purchased it.
