Bit, I have the two tone Tank Francaise, small size, and I love it's simplicity and classic look. If I had to pick again, I'd pick the Santos Galbee over the Roadster or the Tank. The Santos is sporty and yet has the classic Tank feel to it. And there's the Panthere. Don't get me started on how much I love that one. Okay: Final Answer: Santos Galbee!

Love how terrific your photos came out. I tried taking my watch and bracelet on my wrist and it looked blah. Great collection. I'm a beginner collector! It's exciting.

<<Or is the Tank a more appropriate watch for when you're in your 30s and have some professional credibility and experience?>>

Well I AM in my 30s.. no professional credibility whatsoever (I am a mommy of 3) and I have a tank 18k and stainless. I don't think you need any sort of rank, or profession to own either watch. It should be what you like that most that looks best on your wrist. Try them and and see which one you fall in love with. Don't get too caught up with feeling like you have to have achieved anything to wear a watch of this sort.

I got the tank as a high school graduation present from my parents and wore it for years until I lost it at the gym:crybaby: , so I don't think you have to be a certain age to wear it. Now I have a Tonneau.

rooooadddsettterr! i'm in love with that watch! in fact, i'm thinking of getting one for myself (the one with the pink face) i have a pasha c with the blue face which i ADORE and want another cartier - the roadster is calling my name!

I'm surprised everyone here talks about the Roadster and the Tank but very very few ppl talk about the Santos.

The Santos Galbee is sweet.

you are right, a nice combo of Tank/Roadster.

In general I think round case watches can have a more sporty appearance, not always I hasten to add! before a flurry of posts come in! I do feel that the Tank has a very feminine, ladylike appeal,if you wanted that look but a bit more edgy the mid-size could work well? As you already have a round case watch with the Tag,go for the Tank,I think it quietly says you've arrived without screaming 'I'm here!',very stylish and classy. Good reccomendation of the Santos by earlier posts, the Tank has a much more supple bracelet though.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (unless they've re-introduced it,Cartier stopped producing the Santos Galbee, forgive me if they have re-introduced it again and I'm out of step)xxxxxxxxxxxx

I don't know if they ever not have the Santos. I go to Cartier often to get my rings and watches cleaned (for free) or have my Cartier leather polished (again, for free) so I get to see some of their newest stuff.

The Santos 100 is a bit larger than the previous Santos so it's a pretty nice mix of not-too-large like the Roadster and not-too-small like the Tank. The 100 I believe is for the 100th anniversary (I could be wrong).

I believe the Santos 100 does not have the date (unless it is larger)...

The Galibee has the metal strap.
The others have the leather strap. Most have the leather.

As a guy, I prefer the metal strap. I know that leather straps are a pain to take care of because of the water (washing hands) and constant contact with the body's natural oils. But if you are willing to buy a new Cartier strap (about 150-250 US dollars) every few years, then you're all set! I do LOVE the leather strap tho. so classy and elegant, but truthfully, I don't like the fact that leather rots after several years.

The Santos do look more powerful and lumpy. If more guys were on this forum, they'd probably praise the Santos. I personally love the frame. It looks strong and muscular.

yeah, baby, got the ok to buy another Cartier watch!

I' was leaning toward the LV 's but why mess with stuff I know is already quality?

I want a leather strap one. But Cartier 's models are so limited!
