I got the mid-size, two tone tank francaise in December. I love the way it looks on my wrist and feel you can dress it either up or down. The one complaint I have though is that the stainless steel seems to scratch pretty easily. After only three months I have two scratches, one on the shiny edging on the watch face and one on the brushed steel band. I'm probably the only one that notices them but they bother me!!!

Also you can get jewelers to discount the watch. If you are in New England or New York, Lux Bond and Green will discount 20%. Not as much on a Rolex but they will knock off some of the price on that as well.

My gorgeous hubby purchased the classic tank for me for Christmas and it was fantastic, but not quite right so I took it back to exchange it for another, I tried on a fair few Cartiers, but plumped for the Santos, its a classic cartier, and I am hoping to one day get the Cartier love bangle so I was conscious of it matching ;)

My point really is that what will look great on one will not look so fab on somebody else, so its really which one you fall in love with in the store, dont discount other cartiers over the 2 that you have already tried :D

I am having the same dilema...I really want the Cartier Roadster but there are so many other watches too. Everytime I see the Roadster I am in love though.. mI hope you make a choice that makes you happy.

Here's mine:

It's a Santos with after-market diamonds and a satin Cartier band:

my Cartier TF SS/18k midsize quartz. I normally have wrists but I'm pregnant and Michelin-y now.

My favorite Cartier is the Tank Americaine but I'm not quite ready to make that 'investment' yet. I'm too scattered and fickle lately(I went through several watches last year and none of them, except for one vintage Patek Philippe, were quite 'right'.)

I'm going to wait at least a year to be sure. My Tank Francaise was an impulse buy but so far so good and I don't have to worry about keeping a leather strap clean.

Bit, I have the two tone Tank Francaise, small size, and I love it's simplicity and classic look. If I had to pick again, I'd pick the Santos Galbee over the Roadster or the Tank. The Santos is sporty and yet has the classic Tank feel to it. And there's the Panthere. Don't get me started on how much I love that one. It is the flattest, sexiest of them all. Okay: Final Answer: Santos Galbee!
