Yes, but their solution is to "send it to France" and I can pay VAT taxes on top of it all. For $4,000 they will "remove all my diamonds, resmolder gold into a mold, and then set the diamonds again". For such a "mangled piece", you would think it would be crushed and in shambles. I'll have to wait minimum of 5 months for the repair on top of it all. I am requesting now to speak with the Store and Regional SMs. I will in the meantime, take it up with AMEX for my own protection, since I was given absolutely no courtesy or acknowledgment of my absolute loyalty to this store and this particular SA for 13 years! I'd have better treatment at Zales. I am furious.
No, no, no. VAT and custom fees should not be applied, you are a US customer with US Cartier. It's ridiculous.
My watch was sent from US repair center to Switzerland and back, I only paid my state sales tax, which would be applied to any purchase.
There should be a better solution than removing diamonds and re-producing part. Why is such extensive job needed? Is it Love bracelet?

It's a JUC with diamonds around nail head and tip. They said the nail head is bent as well as the hinge. If such trauma occurred then, why are all the diamonds intact? Something catastrophic would have had to happen, which it didn't.

It's a hinge at the clasp most likely, once it's adjusted properly it should close fine. That talk about ripping off diamonds and "reproducing" half of the bracelet is total BS. Here's a random example of hinge repair Get a second and third opinion at local reputable jewelers. Also thick molded gold can't just "bend" unless a heavy person jumps on it or it's in a ski/car collision. It's a hinge.

Hi all. I asked this question in another thread but didn’t realize there was a repair thread. So I wanted to ask here too. Has anyone lost a diamond out of their JUC bracelet? I’m wondering what repair cost would be. Thank you!

Nope! The store itself seemed rather peeved, so maybe it came out of their budget. Unclear. All I know is I've spent beaucoup bucks over the years solely at their store, so they got their money worth with me.
I need help! I sent my two love bracelets in for engraving and EXPLICITLY stated that I did not want any polishing or cleaning performed on the bracelet, as I value the unique patina and scratches that have accumulated over time. This request was made clear to ensure that the bracelet's original character and sentimental value remained intact.

I picked up one of my bracelets yesterday and they polished one!!!! Took gold off, scratches gone, and edges rounded. I’m completely heartbroken. This was my mom’s and now all that history of the bracelet is wiped away.

I called customer service and they confirmed that on the form it stated NO polish or cleaning but it was perfomed anyway.

Given the circumstances, I firmly believe that the only acceptable resolution is to receive a replacement bracelet that matches the condition of the one I originally submitted for engraving.

Any thoughts?

That's really going to be between you and Carter, not sure anyone here could help. I will say every post I've read about dissatisfaction in similar instances, Cartier has done the right thing and people have been happy.

Hello, I had this happen with a sentimental ring (not Cartier). And I can tell you that after wearing it for a bit after it had been cleaned/polished, all of the former nicks and scratches and patina all came back. The polishing and cleaning only lasted temporarily.

I don’t see how Cartier could replace it with something similar to what it was. And all of its history is still there. Chances are after you continue to wear it, all the history will show back through the polishing.

I am freaking out. The hinge on my regular JUC bracelet became bent out of shape. They’re quoting me over $4000 to repair it and “reproduce” it!! I’m utterly shocked!! I’ve purchased 6 pieces from Cartier over the years. I’m going to reach out to my SA, who I purchased all my pieces from. Any help?!
WoW ! Crazy. It was a lot damaged ?
I have also a problem with the hinge of my JUC but it is only the hinge and the clasp, nothing is out of shape. Hope they do not ask me to pay this amount !
